Sigh… Don’t call me a fear monger okay. I’m going to present this in the most neutral way possible and I’ll let you decide. According to a news article, a sonic boom was heard over central England. The article is here. A helicopter mistakenly broadcast an emergency signal which prompted a swift response by the military. Two Typhoon jets were allowed to break the sound barrier to rush to the helicopter. The sound was heard over Bath, Swindon and Oxford.
So I did some digging on Youtube and to my delight I found a perfect recording of it from Bath. The only thing is, it’s not a boom but rather the jet sounds themselves. Notice how the jet roar suddenly stops and starts back up again. This occurred today at 6pm. It made the news immediately.
Here is the video.
When I viewed the above video I noticed she had linked to another video shot yesterday at 6am from the Netherlands. According to the poster of this video below, their local news said it was a broken air shaft of an electric factory. Go to the 11:55 mark and notice how it stops suddenly.
I will not comment on these as they have official explanations.
I’ve been following the story of unexplained noise in Kerry and Derry since last month. For background you should read this post here. Kerry and Derry are on the opposite ends of Ireland with Derry to the north and Kerry to the south. They’ve been experiencing completely different sounds that are described as “annoying”. What’s particularly odd in my opinion is that they’re completely different types of noise. One is described as sounding like a helicopter and the other as being more like a hum. It seems weird that Ireland is experiencing two different unexplained disturbances in opposite areas at the same time. I’m not sure what this means if anything.
Deputy Healy-Rae said that people were being disrupted by the “very unusual and very annoying” noise and that one family in particular were “driven demented” by it.
One gets a mental image of a family being taken away in a paddy wagon.
Having begun last April, people as far as 25 kilometer have reported hearing it. The local government there is taking it seriously. This is very much like the Windsor hum, see here. According to the article the noise can’t be recorded, but finally someone has recorded audio waves and replicated the sound.
For the first time we have not only a video of a local resident describing the mystery noise, but also a replication of the hum. Barry Lynch says he doesn’t believe it’s supernatural.
Below is a video of the hum. Apparently the audio waves can be recorded but they’re so low frequency it’s very hard to hear. What you’re hearing is a “replica”.
So this brings us to Derry, it’s an odd coincidence how they rhyme. They’re not hearing a “hum”. Their nuisance comes in the form of what’s described as an aircraft noise occurring at night. No one is taking blame and no one can see an airplane. They have ruled out local commercial flights and geological survey planes. The government there is also taking it seriously.
Filmed in Seinäjoki, Finland, March 6th in the middle of the night. Apparently the wee hours of the morning is the best time to vent power plants, palm factories and steel mills. Who knew.
The YT poster of this video says:
I never believed to hear those voices myself… but last night I did…
Well I think they did. Today they aren’t so sure. They updated the YT description with a “case solved”. A phone call to a local power plant claims they had to release some steam in the middle of the night. Nothing to see here.
This venting explanation is baloney. The regular sound is not a venting factory valve and I will tell you why.
Exhibit A:
The person recording this says the power plant had to vent steam. Look at these videos below of venting power plants. One is coal and the other is nuclear. They sound nothing like these repetitive blasts. I searched to find a factory valve that vents like this and these videos are all I could find.
Exhibit B:
1. No one has ever heard these sounds before and suddenly factories are venting in the middle of the night all around the world.
2. The above video sounds exactly like the Malaysia video. The above video was blamed on a venting power plant and the Malaysia event was blamed on a palm factory. Do venting palm factories and venting power plants sound the same? I doubt it.
3. The above video sounds exactly like the Oshawa event which is unexplained and was attributed to a steel mill venting in the middle of the night. This explanation was offered by a strange person who changed their story several times. The local news redacted their statement about the cause. Does a venting steel mill sound like a venting palm factory and a venting power plant. I doubt it.
So what do we have here in terms of this particular type of sky noise (sky dragon is my term, I made it up as a way to identify it):
1. These sounds occur in the middle of the night from roughly 12:00am to 5:00am in the morning.
2. People that hear it who may live near factories or power plants have never heard it before.
3. These sounds have been recorded since November and we have five examples as of today.
4. They seem to have a direction but not a definite source.
5. They are explained away. See exhibit A and B above.
To really understand the history and analysis of these very important sky events please read the following posts. If you have time that is because there are other posts that update these original articles. Links to:
UPDATE 3/8: This one is from Kazakhstan from yesterday. Is it a fake? You tell me. Shot at 5:36am. Are people onto the “venting valve” hoaxery now? Who knows.

UPDATE 3/8:
From the Scientific Method Man in the comments and my response:
….There has been an increase of videos on this topic on YT lately. This doesn’t automatically mean that they have never been heard before.
–The people recording these types of sounds claim to have never heard it before in all cases.
….I’m not an engineer, but perhaps both plants use the same type of cooling system?
–A palm factory is not a power plant. The local people of the Malaysia event vehemently deny it came from the factory in question.
….I’m not an engineer, but perhaps all three plants use the same type of cooling system?
–You are correct and I can’t prove that. But I suppose common sense says the three things would not relate due to the nature of the product….but then I suppose common sense can be flawed theory and I accept that. Making palm oil is not the same as making nuclear power is it.
….Perhaps a new way of venting their plants has recently been developed which reduces wear and tear significantly. It has been a recent development, so it produces a type of sound that has rarely been heard before. Are you up to date with progress in the world of factories?
–Maybe this is the case. I like this theory, it makes sense. A new form of venting. I’m not up to date nor an engineer.
….What do you think is the explanation for these sounds? Why do you think that your explanation is more plausible than the “venting plant” explanation? You don’t really want to stay at a “this is a strange sound, I don’t believe the ‘official’ explanation’, it must be something mysterious, but we will never know” stage, do you?
–I don’t know the explanation. I’m sure there is an explanation somewhere. Maybe it’s all a coincidence, a new venting system and “official” explanations should be accepted without question. I’m not saying official explanations are conspiracies. I’m saying that the officials may not know and it’s just a guess on their part. People don’t like unexplained things because it’s chaotic. I suppose I could look for heavy scientific essays to support my posts but then we would all be bored (I’m yawning thinking about it). Every time I read an article where some “scientists” claims to know the answer to strange sounds, we see an article refuting that article which is equally nonsensical. I’m like people from Missouri whose state motto is “Show me”.
INSERT 1/15: A very interesting sky noise description from the reader comments:
I live in Dallas, and while I did not hear the noise on the 13th, (sleeping), I DID hear a similar “roar” yesterday (2/14) around 8 or 9pm. I had the TV on in the background while I was finishing off a Valentines gift (better late than never, right?).
The noise wasn’t sudden–rather I suddenly became aware of it. Assuming it was the TV, I shut off the sound. The noise was still audible. I assumed it was someone rolling their trash bin to the alley, but the sound lasted far too long, and trash pick-up is thursday. I thought then it might have been thunder; we were expecting rain the next day.The sound seemed too strange for that, either. I went outside to see if I could hear any better–I wasn’t the only one who heard it, either.
Walking towards my back alley (the sound seemed to originate south-east of me, around the white-rock lake area), I noticed my neighbor coming outside with his wife just after I had, “What the hell is that?” We deliberated for a moment. It was as if bombs were going off in the distance. I’ve never heard anything like this. It seemed to be a mixture of sounds: fireworks, thunder, a trash bin being rolled, an airplane roar.
The noise continued for about 5 minutes straight, then it suddenly stopped, like it had been shut-off. It was then that the roar of the airplanes (usually constantly) flying over head became audible–and was distinctly different from what my neighbor and I had heard.
While this noise was similar to the sounds I described above, It was definitely NOT fireworks, thunder, a trash bin, and NOT an airplane (interestingly though, the noise did sound like it was from something in the sky); we agreed on that. “Well, it’s not our problem anymore,” we chuckled and returned inside. The “roar” left me uneasy, and painfully curious, though. I was delighted to find your blog this morning when I googled the noise, city and date, not expecting to find anything.

Insert 2: Also I found this link from Feb 8th. Sonic Boom Shakes North Tarrant County here, official explanation is F-16s causing sonic booms. It was felt and heard. As someone in the news story comments points out “I am pretty sure that it is against the law to break the sound barrier over US soil. At the very least they should get a demerit on the score card.”

The above video was recorded in Dallas, Texas on February 13th January 31 at 2:00am. Why do these sounds often occur in the wee hours of the morning. The witness says the sound did exactly what we expect from a true “sky roar”. It is constant and stops suddenly. “Sky roar” is defined here. He says it happened six or seven times and lasted up to 45 minutes. He says “Most people I’ve shown it to think it’s a plane but I work outside… hear planes a lot… it’s no plane.” Take note in the end of how it stop suddenly like someone shutting off a valve.
UPDATE 1/6: Another incident of mysterious radio frequency interference in Missouri. This time garage door remotes are affected on one street. From The Intel Hub here. Follow the link to St. Louis Post-Dispatch article.
=======
Three strikes and it becomes really intriguing. Over the past few months there have been unexplained radio frequencies causing disruptions in the UK and Colorado. Once again a village in the UK is experiencing radio frequency interference. The villagers of Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire discovered their village green, a triangular park, was a dead zone for the operation of remote control car locks. According to an article in the Daily Mail (here) the location is close to Army barracks implying the cause is of military origin. However, barracks are military housing, so perhaps it’s a coincidence.
From the article:
A spokesperson for the Army, which operates Waterbeach Barracks, said: ‘We are not aware of anything happening at Waterbeach that would have caused anything remotely like that.’
Experts and scientists using sophisticated equipment determined the source was an ultra-high frequency radio band. According to the article the military uses such signals. The weird thing about this is that it seems to be within a defined area. It affects only the triangular park in the village. The signal was registered at the southern end of the park yet not pinpointed.
Once again the excuse is possibly a faulty TV or fridge. Seems to me any company making such appliances needs to examine why their product can knock out remote control devices in a huge area. I’m not buying this appliance excuse. I’ve never heard of this before until recently. I have a feeling it’s maybe some sort of military experiment. The signal has since magically disappeared.
From MönchenGladbach in NRW, Germany, on January 22nd.
If this isn’t real it’s very good theater. I have to be honest, if this is fake it makes me angry and I want people to stop. I haven’t seen a video in a while that gives me chills.
Picture the scene…a family in their cozy home on a Sunday evening. They have a cute little puppy named Benji who they’re trying to teach tricks. It’s a sweet scene that goes from domestic playtime to unexplained horror. Hollywood couldn’t have done a better job. Someone urging the puppy to roll over is interrupted by the family cockatoo that begins to flutter and fly about as if frightened. The mister in the film asks, “what is that droning?” He complains of the pipes making noise again and tells the person filming to be sure to record it as proof there’s a problem. Suddenly they realize it’s not the pipes afterall, but rather the sound is coming from outdoors. They open the door and the sound seems to enter the home like an unwanted visitor. Stepping outside to investigate, the witnesses are met with a loud sort of droning. They walk closer to the source and it seems to increase in volume. “Is it a plane?” they ask. Just as the cockatoo freaked out before, now Benji is whining. The man assures the dog it’s going to be okay. The end.
It has lots of jerky camera movements and good commentary. I don’t speak german so I can’t judge the sincerity of the witnesses. To me it sounds like a table saw cutting through thick wood. Yet somehow it doesn’t. They have provided us with translation bubbles. Another rare one here. We never see animals reacting and certainly a bird is not one I would expect to see. If this is real I don’t like it one bit.
Believability Scale:| | | | | | | | | |
plus: sound is definitely outside and coming from somewhere, it’s at night which maybe rules out construction, good commentary, a perfect length, dog and bird reacting. minus: in a city where sounds can be anything, timing is very coincidental with recent events, follows my guidelines perfectly.
Filmed by a lad in Ireland by the name of McShane in County Armagh, Ireland, January 19th. The Unidentified Audible Object (UAO) lasted 15 minutes and according to a comment left by him, he says while he was at work his wife heard it again the next day.
Well, this one is a stumper. I’ve watched it a few times and it actually sounds somewhat convincing. This one features an obnoxious sound akin to a loud boiling tea kettle from hell (which it could be). He certainly did film it correctly with commentary, surroundings and length. This UAO is quite atmospheric and seems to genuinely move about.
The video has one thing that got my attention. He pans over toward a group of people in the distance who I think are outside listening to the sound. This is very rare and valuable evidence. Of course they could just be hanging out. At one point he says the dogs are going crazy, in fact, I can hear dogs barking. That’s very good. What is very bad about this video is the title screen, this means that he edited it, which means sound could have been added. I won’t dismiss this however, because he seems to have been somewhat creative in his past unrelated videos. The other very suspicious thing about this is that its timing with current events is a bit too coincidental. He’s very aware of sky sounds which raises my suspicion but I can’t use that as criteria anymore. Everyone seems to know.
Another interesting twist to this video is that a YT user by the name of omaghman2 has analyzed this video with the software Adobe Auditions. After removing background noise, the video says the UAO is made up of five frequencies. Does this mean there are five different sounds happening? Any sound experts reading this post care to guess?
McShane has posted a video of his theories about what it could have been here. It’s a bit long and winding but I watched him carefully. Either he’s a great actor or he’s telling the truth. I appreciate the fact he’s willing to show his face.

According to an article at SalemNews.com, titled Magnetic Polar Shifts Causing Massive Global Superstorms by Terrence Aym, we are in for some nasty weather changes. The idea is that earth’s northern magnetic pole is shifting rapidly with the result being superstorms. I think we can all agree that after last year’s disastrous storms and earthquakes something is definitely wrong. In my opinion these magnetic field changes make sense given how the disasters are earth as well as weather related. From the article:
The Earth’s northern magnetic pole was moving towards Russia at a rate of about five miles annually. That progression to the East had been happening for decades. Suddenly, in the past decade the rate sped up. Now the magnetic pole is shifting East at a rate of 40 miles annually, an increase of 800 percent. And it continues to accelerate. Recently, as the magnetic field fluctuates, NASA has discovered “cracks” in it. This is worrisome as it significantly affects the ionosphere, troposphere wind patterns, and atmospheric moisture. All three things have an effect on the weather.
What caught my eye was that the shifts can affect the ionosphere, troposphere wind patterns, and atmospheric moisture. The troposphere is the one closest to earth at about 10 kilometers. Next is the stratosphere. Each can change in height according to the temperature. The atmosphere is comprised of many layers including the ionosphere up to the exosphere at 700 kilometers. Jet streams move in the stratosphere at around 100 miles per hour. Suppose there is some sort of disruption between the layers being caused by the magnetic shift. Would this cause the loud sky roaring that we’ve recorded many times on this blog. We’ve determined in this post here, that these sounds have occurred in the past. There have been so many videos posted I’m convinced they’re accelerating in frequency. I’m not a scientist but perhaps if you’re an expert on the atmosphere you can expand or dispute my theory.
Insert 1/20: Response to Sharon Hill at Doubtful News. Response on this post here. It’s going to make some people mad.
Sky roars aren’t sexy like metallic sounds but they’re the real deal. No one noticed these videos below because we were all too amazed by the plethora of fakes.
First up we have one from Badajoz, Spain on Jan 18th, 2012. The witness says there was no storm or thunder. Just a hum from the sky. It’s a classic sky roar. What makes this one significant is that the roars are always described as being constant, but stopping and starting suddenly, and this is the best example I have of that happening. The poster has a suspicious description and tags, but I am pretty sure it’s real. After all, he didn’t make a Kiev fake did he? Sky roars aren’t sexy. MORE AFTER THE JUMP…
Captured in Aalborg Denmark on January 10th this is a very strange one. Skip to 1:20 to hear it.
The person who recorded it claims it was much louder in person. They say it “sounded like it came from the heavens”. The noise lasted a few minutes which is a short duration for most sky sounds. They can’t identify the sound and stated that they’re sure it’s not an airplane, train or helicopter.
The closest thing I could find that is similar to this is the well known New Jersey video from last year (below).
Believability Scale:| | | | | | | | | |
plus: sounds genuine, person has no related posts on YT, a not super clear recording that sounds very atmospheric minus: in a city where sounds can be anything, very short in duration
This video was recorded in Southern France on November 11. In their Youtube description they go into a long spiel about how people will say this is fake but it’s not. They claim the sound pulses are very intense and seem to come from the sky and ground. They say that it reminded them of the Cloverfield movie (I think they mean War of the Worlds) and the Kiev sound (which it is nothing like). They have 5 other videos with ufo related content. Verdict: Dismissed as a fake.
He has two other videos of the sound event. I listened carefully and I thought it was either a jack hammer at a construction site or some other heavy equipment. I do think the sound is really happening because it has a distant echoing quality.
Again I thought it was a fake…until I came across this a day later.
Also filmed in Southern France the day before. Exactly the same sound and at night which might rule out construction work.
Believability Scale:| | | | || | | | | plus: sounds real but not necessarily unexplainable, you can hear the sound immediately when you start both videos, filmed by two different people a day apart in the same vicinity at night and during the day, second person has no related post on YT minus: located in a city where sounds could be anything, first person has related post on YT and mentions Kiev
