What do these videos all have in common?

They’re posted by people frustrated by what they hear. They can’t understand and will record it over and over capturing the sound with varying degrees of success. They often feel that people think they’re crazy or that people don’t believe them. They know it’s not a plane and we know that too. They all have commentary and more often they seem curious more than afraid. See here for the definition of a “sky roar”. The term was invented by yours truly as a way to identify the events. I have catalogued many of these types of sounds over the last 6 months. To see more just look in the categories to the right.

I’ve been noticing an uptick in people posting about hearing a constant jet sound above their houses. I’m certain this type of sky noise is increasing. The “sky roars” are definitely related to boom sounds. You will see in this news video from Ohio that booms and roars are being heard together. The witnesses say they might have seen a jet but the big problem with that idea is the length of the sound. I will no longer entertain the idea that these constant jet sounds are from actual jets. They last too long and most say they really don’t sound like jets. This news piece is very lame but watch.

Witnesses say:

I heard an extremely loud “boom” followed by what sounded like a long drawn out continuation of that first sound. It wasn’t an ascending noise either, just came out of nowhere.

I heard two events. The second was lesser than the first. Lasted about 45 seconds each. Sounded like a LOUD jet but no boom.

So now back to the three disturbed ladies and a guy. I’ve been following two of the women since last fall. They periodically post videos of the constant jet roars and most have multiple videos. They often have commentary which is very useful for context. They all sound like nice people simply curious and bothered by the noises. Often these sounds are recorded early in the morning. One thing about “sky roars” is the timing is often early in the morning. The third woman has only started recording last week but already has several videos. They seem quite determined to document these sounds. The “guy” heard this sound early in the morning too. He also seems frustrated and says, “I know I’m not crazy!”. I picked the best of their videos.

The first is YT user thecajungoddess in Louisiana. She has been recording these since last fall and has a new loud one. She says:

This went on for over 2 hours and woke me up at aprox 5am….I had to use my regular camera (as in crappy camera)….and it was dark, so that’s why no picture….but at least i got the audio….

She has other videos with surroundings.

This one is from Beaverlodge, Alberta by SuperSamgordon. She even bought a good camera to record it. In later videos she goes off into all sort of theories including orbs and ufos. This one was from September of last year before all the “strange sound” interest.

She says:

I hear this every morning ,more than 3 weeks now. It’s getting progressively louder as the days go by. I could hear this at 7:00 a.m.when I got up,it’s now 9:10 and it’s getting even louder. Does anybody have any answers at all?

This is a new one from Pennsylvania. She has been awoken several times and has a number of videos. This video has the sudden stop that we some times hear in this sort of sky noise.

She says:

The noise startled me out of my sleep. At the end of the film I said almost 7 o’clock in the morning. It was almost 6 o’clock in the morning (6:50am). I wasn’t awake yet. I hate being woken up this early. It’s way to early for this.

This guy from Louisiana was awoken a 5:45 in the morning and the video was recorded a day before thecajungoddess video. So this is sort of a “twin”. A “twin” is a matching video by another person, around the same time or day in a nearby location. If you look at his channel he has commentary and seems very frustrated.

Filmed in Pensacola, Florida on April 22nd. This is an odd one. We’ve never heard a constant jet roar type video that audibly fluctuates. The witness says it sounds like jets continually taking off or circling. I laugh every time I play this because it sounds like the birds are answering the sound. It seems to have been uploaded directly from a phone.

Yet more booms, but this time we have a culprit. Early Sunday morning around 8:00am on April 22nd, residents of Nevada and Northern California were awoken by a very loud sonic boom. The cause was a large meteor, also known as a bolide, that came very close to the Earth’s atmosphere before exploding.

Apparently this meteor was not actually recorded and all images in the news piece are just example photos. This was not clear to me. So I found some report excerpts from the American Meteor Society below. It even had an odor…

She stated it went up then down, and looked some what triangular, was silver/metallic in color and glowing/flashing (it caught her attention as she thought it was a reflection off the windows/mirrors, but there wasn’t a moving light source in sight).

It was a bright, colorful flash across the sky that stopped abruptly, exploded into what looked like brown pieces (similar to the Road Runner/dynamite cartoons) and then disappeared completely.

It was very low, large and bright and continued across sky towards the Fresno/Sacramento central valley area Glowing yellow and green, very bright

Large boom and some electrophonic hissing afterward.

Also, SMELLED somewhat like the smell of someone WELDING, maybe 20 mins. to 1/2 hour after visual, maybe 20 mins. after sonic boom. Exploded with small fragments and reminded me of the green sparklers on July 4.

The flash was vibrant green with a different coloration in the center, possibly a darker green/blue color. It was conical in shape and its width was longer than its length without the brief trail it left behind.

They’re attributing it to something called a Lyrid meteor shower that happens late in April. The Earth makes an annual pass by a debris field left by a passing comet. This meteor was rare because it could be seen during the day which means it was quite large. The big rock apparently disintegrated before hitting the ground and the explosion was equal to a very small nuclear blast. The guy in this video below says it was probably the size of a washing machine. Many people thought it was an earthquake because it shook houses and rattled windows. I buy the idea it could be part of the Lyrid shower but I haven’t heard of this type of extreme meteor boom before. I also thought the showers were nice and pretty shooting stars, ya know…the quiet kind. From Nevada:

The boom was even weirder because it wasn’t just a boom. According to this article here, witnesses reported that after the explosion there was other rumbling that lasted a while and sounded like thunder. Listen to the police audio below where the police describe TWO booms and low rumbling after the fact. Very strange!

According to this article here, a scientist in Canada specializing in meteor sound waves, said it had a very strong infrasonic signal. The signal was recorded in a monitoring station and lasted 18 minutes. These signals are very low frequency.

Over a week ago another meteor was seen over seven states and it didn’t make a peep.

And this one below is fascinating! The footage is taken from various legitimate sources and was recorded April 14th (INSERT: my mistake…this was from 2010, I will keep it in anyway) over Wisconsin. The poster doesn’t think it’s a meteor. Fun to watch.

So why all of a sudden is there some sort of sonic boom every other day? It’s either unexplained, air shows or meteors. Regardless of the source, it’s disconcerting that the world is suddenly being bombarded with sonic booms.

Some sort of jets practicing for an air show broke the sound barrier at a very low altitude in Tucson, Arizona. This in turn blew out windows in a strip mall.

A witness says:

“It sounded much like an earthquake…everything shook all at once unlike anything I’ve ever experienced living in Tucson my whole life.

A local Air Force Base has taken responsibility. The article is here.

Of course we just had another incident with jets breaking the sound barrier in the UK. The jets in that case were intercepting a helicopter transmitting a distress signal. Here is the supposed video Typhoon jet on course.

I try to stay away from conspiracy ideas but in this case, it’s a bit strange don’t you think? What are the chances that within a few days of each other that sonic booms occurred over two major cities in the US and UK. Sonic booms do not happen every day. I’m not saying it wasn’t caused by jets but I am saying it’s hard to believe it’s a mere coincidence. Sonic booms are illegal over populated areas. Why would these jets do this? Was it really an accident? Does the military make these sort of mistakes?

Also keep in mind another boom was reported over San Diego on the same day without jets. All coincidences?

I think in this case it might be worth mentioning this article here. I can’t find a truly legitimate source for the story but here it is. Take it for what it is.

At 5am Easter Sunday in Costa Del Sol, Spain, witnesses are claiming that low-flying jets were chasing a UFO. The object was described as long and thin with flashing lights and it made a strange humming noise. Perhaps a drone? According to the article, military exercises aren’t allowed over populated areas.

From the article:

One British reader, who asked to remain anonymous, told the paper this weekend: “It was terrifying. They were clearly tailing this strange-looking craft.

It has been suggested by various conspiracy sites that the helicopter being pursued in the UK was really a UFO. Many reason the response was overkill. Does a highjacked helicopter call for two Typhoon jets?

UPDATE 4/12: The young lady in the video at the bottom of this post explains what she heard. While she is explaining the sound occurs again. It’s a bit long but worth it.

Filmed in Virginia, this video is being pretty widely distributed and is generating lots of discussion. It’s a type of sound I’ve documented before with the first being recorded in Indianapolis last year. See here. My first thought is that someone is banging on a big steel tank of some sort. The rhythm of it sounds intentional. The Indianapolis one sounds exactly the same, as if someone is knocking urgently on a hollow steel door.

The witness says this has occurred before and it started August of last year. I dismissed this one initially because it sounds fake. On the other hand, the post below this one (from Ontario) has similar metal banging and also it’s nowhere near Virginia.

Here is the one from Indianapolis last November. It’s nearly exactly the same. Compare the two.

Do we have a new type of sound emerging like the “sky dragons” that were explained away when someone sent us a video of venting valves? See here. Will we see more and more videos of this type of metal banging sound? Will someone eventually send us a video of an old man standing in front of an empty propane tank with a hammer? Will I have to write a post saying what an idiot I was to have doubted the official explanations? We shall see.

Is this a new type of hoax? How can something from the sky have anything to do with metal, given that metal has weight. The size of the metal would have to be huge to make sound that loud. All of these types of metal banging sounds have an apparent direction, meaning whatever it is, it’s probably bouncing off the atmosphere.

Let’s think about it for a minute. Something made of heavy metal doesn’t float. It takes some sort of force to make these sounds. Direct multiple blows would do this. The recorded incidents seem to always be at night. So often many of the strange noises happen at night.

Once again we have a pretty good “twin” video below helping prove it’s real, at least real in the sense they heard “something”.

Also filmed in Virginia this witness, a young teen girl, has heard this noise for several nights. I’m pretty sure it’s the same noise but I find this one more disturbing somehow. Perhaps it’s her reaction.

She chokes and says, “What the fuck is that? Oh my god I’m about to fucking cry.” She says it’s coming directly from the sky.

I don’t remember so many reports of “booms” everywhere until recently. It’s getting to be every other day some sort of boom is making the news. It’s even starting to feel commonplace. There are all sorts of explanations being offered.

Expert Explains. Click Image to See Video at Site

Here we have yet another strange boom and shaking, this time in San Diego at 9 am this morning. This was reported in an article from NBC here. No seismic activity reported and speculations of a military exercise called chaff or strong lightening. A witness describes it as atmospheric.

I’ve created a quick poll if you care to weigh in. If I left something out feel free to put it in the comments.

Turn up your volume for this one. Filmed in Hamilton, Ontario at 7:00am Easter morning, this sounds like metal banging in the sky. Very atmospheric, the sound is clearly in the distance. I believe it’s not likely there would be construction on Easter Sunday.

There is no real consistency to the noise here. The witness says it sounds like clanging metal, wind without wind and booming. At one point her dogs go crazy. I like it when dogs go nuts because it makes the video more credible. I see no reason this wouldn’t be real. She seems a bit disturbed by the banging and ends the video by saying she’s going to get her husband.

The filming is continued from a different angle and includes her husband’s commentary. It sounds about the same from this particular angle as it did in the first video.

This is a very strange noise indeed. To my ear it’s like someone (the Easter Bunny?) in a workshop looking for a lost tool and in the process dropping and throwing things around. The husband says it sounds like construction, but it doesn’t sound like that she says. The husband wonders why the birds aren’t bothered. It upset the dogs but the birds are unfazed.

In the end she laughs nervously and says, “if something comes out of the sky I’m running to the basement.”

Sigh… Don’t call me a fear monger okay. I’m going to present this in the most neutral way possible and I’ll let you decide. According to a news article, a sonic boom was heard over central England. The article is here. A helicopter mistakenly broadcast an emergency signal which prompted a swift response by the military. Two Typhoon jets were allowed to break the sound barrier to rush to the helicopter. The sound was heard over Bath, Swindon and Oxford.

So I did some digging on Youtube and to my delight I found a perfect recording of it from Bath. The only thing is, it’s not a boom but rather the jet sounds themselves. Notice how the jet roar suddenly stops and starts back up again. This occurred today at 6pm. It made the news immediately.

Here is the video.

When I viewed the above video I noticed she had linked to another video shot yesterday at 6am from the Netherlands. According to the poster of this video below, their local news said it was a broken air shaft of an electric factory. Go to the 11:55 mark and notice how it stops suddenly.

I will not comment on these as they have official explanations.

FROM THE COMMENTS:

It doesn’t seem like you to state your biased opinion as fact like this… to say that these noises are so obviously the result of climate change is just as preposterous as saying they are the result of Easter Bunnies in the sky. It seems strange that you would make the leap from your typical, facts-only approach to such an unfounded shotgun-statement like this… especialy when there is zero evidence to support such a claim and plenty of evidence to the contrary…
…too many more posts like this and you’ll be walkin that line between journalist and fear-monger, like so many other internet sites… are you starting to slip on us?

MY RESPONSE:

The key words I used are “believe” and “think” and “thought”. I made it clear I’m referring to “booms” and “jet roar sounds”. The Accuweather video explains how earthquakes might be caused by climate change. It’s not a leap to recognize that many of these “booms” are happening during recorded seismic activity as represented in the OK and PA videos.

It’s obvious there is something wrong with our climate and I don’t need to google it to see. If you do google it you will find there is growing debate and concern as to whether these extreme and numerous tornadoes are caused by climate change. No one agrees but I wouldn’t say it’s not possible like you imply. I simply said I thought it could be related given that the roars sound like tornadoes. As far as the other “strange sounds”, I don’t know and I have my doubts about those even as I document them.

I would hardly call myself a journalist and in fact I have no idea what I’m doing. I suppose it’s less scary to believe it’s aliens, HAARP, God, etc., than to believe it could be (gasp) climate change.

The elusive stuff lingers at the edge of our vision and never quite materializes. The paranormal stuff is scary but fun! Climate change is measurable and it WILL kick your ass.

We’ve heard lot’s about the mysterious Clintonville booms over the last month and you may or may not know that the diagnosis was a 1.5 earthquake. See here. Many people including Clintonville residents didn’t buy this explanation. Even I found it a bit hard to believe. Just because it seems hard to believe doesn’t make it false.

We also saw other towns near Clintonville being affected by the booms. The town of Baraboo even had flashes of light. See here. But small earthquake booms aren’t really unusual as I had thought. There have been several examples of small earthquakes being accompanied by booms. The most recent is from a week ago in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, see here, and from last May another example from Philadelphia occured. This tells me that indeed all the booming and odd sounds they hear are most likely caused by seismic activity.

If you follow this blog you know that we attempt to debunk or explain the incidents even with limited information. The only “strange sounds” we’ve documented that are probably real are booms and constant jet roar sounds. See definitions here to understand. I think the “sky dragons” are venting valves (see here) and the Kiev “trumpets” (see here) are fakes all around. Even the post above this one from Hamilton, Ontario while definitely “strange”, is not necessarily unexplainable.

I think the booms and the constant jet noises are probably natural but could be ominous. There have been many, many of the jet noise type sound videos recently. I don’t post a fraction of them. I believe they’re real and this phenomenon started last year in Florida.

I believe these booms and jet noises are related to climate change and a symptom of changes in our atmosphere.

In this video below from Accuwather they explain how climate change might cause earthquakes.

I have to tell you, my heart sank when I saw the extreme and unusually early tornadoes touching down in Dallas-Fort Worth last week. Tornadoes aren’t actually abnormal in Texas but there have been many other early twisters in Kentucky, Indiana and other states resulting in 39 deaths. This video below shows how this tornado threw semi-trailers around like Tonka toys.

Baraboo, Wisconsin Lights and Booms

UPDATE 4/5: Here are some videos about Baraboo.

——————————

Another small town in Wisconsin is hearing booms but this time they’re being accompanied by lights. That’s odd because I thought the booms were coming from the ground. What do lights in the sky have to do with booms in the ground. There were no reports of thunderstorms and the National Weather Service can’t make any connection in terms of weather. The lights were observed BEFORE the booms.

From the article here:

“I observed a large flash of light followed by a ‘boom,’” the officer wrote in his report. “I advised dispatch of this information and my belief that it was possibly a transformer.”

However, Sauk County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers contacted Alliant Energy, and reported the company knew of no power outages in the Baraboo area.

Is this related to earthquakes as they say occurred in Clintonville. There is something called “earthquake lights”.

From wiki:

An earthquake light is an unusual luminous aerial phenomenon that reportedly appears in the sky at or near areas of tectonic stress, seismic activity, or volcanic eruptions.

Clintonville, Montello and Baraboo

From what I read, it would occur during a real earthquake. The wiki definition says nothing about flashes of light followed by booms. Earthquake lights are not well understood but you can read more at the link here. The lights don’t make any sense because the booms are supposedly coming from the ground.

Now we have booms in Clintonville, Montello and Baraboo. The events seem to be on a path.

New Zealand Booms and Lights

A green, orange and white fire ball left a sort of strange corkscrew trail as it flew at high speed across New Zealand. Two minutes AFTER, a very loud boom was heard.

From the article:

A Hanmer Springs resident said they heard ‘a loud boom’ about two minutes after it streaked past.

‘Not sure if hit the ground or sonic boom, perhaps the latter, very exciting! Much more exciting than putting the washing out.’

Astronomers say it was very unlikely the meteor will be found. Article is here.
