I like to think this site is useful and informative. While I’m often accused of scaring people, my answer is that if you pay attention you will find I try to debunk them. On occasion I succeed or come very close. I get caught up in the drama of these videos at times but I always try to pick them apart. Since being criticized for denying official explanations, I’m trying even harder to be neutral. I may not always succeed but I try.
If I’m guilty of anything it’s presenting them at all and some people think we souldn’t talk about it because obviously it’s somehow mean to do so and will lead simple minds to ruin (sarcasm here).
What scares people is not the posting of videos in a list. Many websites do this. The fear is created in rationally discussing them. They aren’t easily dismissed when someone tries to pick them apart and make connections no matter how shakey. My biggest problem is that people don’t read the posts and only play the videos. The other big problem is that people will use my site as proof of the apocalypse, this has happened with the Clintonville case. I won’t name names.
Some of the videos can’t be explained easily and I’m limited to information available. They will remain a mystery but does this mean they’re supernatural? Certainly not! I have never said they were.
So, that said, I’ll show you how this site is actually useful in helping answer fears. This is going to make a lot of people mad who don’t want to accept the evidence. See a lesson in types (here) before reading further.

ABSOLUTELY TRUE BUT UNEXPLAINED
Booms: These reports are all supported by multiple accounts and news videos or articles. Why this is happening is beyond the capabilities of this blog. Some are explained as earthquakes and some are explained as meteors. They are earth and sky sounds. In some cases they don’t register on seismic monitors in any way. Does this mean they aren’t natural. There are always natural and manmade explanations being offered. This type is presented here for their being interesting and notable. I present the facts only, but try to make connections between incidents.

DEFINITELY DEBUNKED.
Kiev type sounds: The Kiev video from last summer started it all. Then came the copy cats. I devoted an article debunking Kiev before “strange sound” videos became the fad du jour. I gave reasons why it isn’t real but unlike the copy cats I can’t one hundred percent debunk it. Look at my debunking video link below and decide.
Then came the copy cats. The big scare came from a hoax in Conklin, Alberta. Some guys having fun decided to play the Kiev sound in the background while standing in the woods. It freaked everyone out. Then after people studied the video it became clear that it was a copy. Shortly afterward a slew of these dubbed videos appeared on the internet. Hoax after hoax was churned out with exactly the same sound. Then to make matters worse someone was running around a small town in Canada playing some sort of lame ass horn that freaked everyone out even worse. The news picked it up and did a story based on hearsay. Thanks to Shielaaliens she proved the videos were copies of the Kiev video sound (link below).

TRUE BUT UNEXPLAINED
Sky roars: These sounds are like constant jet engine sounds that don’t move and sometimes last for hours. I firmly believe these are true and not hoaxes but they aren’t supported by any news or facts. We just have videos. There are many of these videos and while I think they’re natural I don’t know if they’re ominous. They certainly sound scary enough. Just because they’re scary and true doesn’t mean they can’t be explained. It’s just I can’t explain them and the people recording them can’t explain them. I really don’t believe they’re jets or valves but it’s hard to say and I let you decide.

PROBABLY DEBUNKED OR DEBUNKED.
Sky dragons: This is a sort of breathing sound in the sky. The Malaysia event was the best known and taken seriously by their government. Then we had Oshawa and finally Slovenia. We have covered these types of sounds since January. The Malaysia government put forth the conclusion it was venting valves in a factory. I left the matter open and was skeptical. Finally proof arose that pretty much debunks all of these. The Slovenia incident was matched up to an actual video on their local news that showed a heating plant venting steam. It was the same sound. All the rest have no such supporting videos. It is possible that all the “sky dragon” videos are venting valves as demonstrated in the Slovenia news piece.

There are others on this site and I won’t list them, but if you read the posts you will see they’re presented neutrally. If these sounds scare you it’s because I amass and discuss them and not because they’re presented as the end or supernatural.
I offer this as proof that I’m open to ideas and attempt to debunk them without too much drama. I’m sorry I have to constantly explain myself but when web hits go through the roof as with Clintonville, it’s important that newcomers understand what we’re trying to do here. Most often people WILL NOT read the post thus leading to misunderstandings.

Actually, I find this blog to be highly interesting and informative. After all, when the news covers these at all, it’s only briefly while you actually keep us up to date, and do some dang good analysis to boot.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Frank. I have to occasionally explain what I’m doing because people think I’m trying to scare people.
Jay Man, don’t worry about explaining yourself. I agree with Frank – you’re doing good work. Ignore the haters. It’s YOUR blog so you don’t need to warrant their accusations with an explanation. Just keep doing what you’re doing.
Makes my head spin sometimes.. so many different noises, so many locations but still no real definitive explanation for any of them. Brilliant blog though Jay Man and I look forward to every new post, I guess people get scared of what they don’t understand, its human nature.
Yea man, keep it up. I must admit I’m one of those people who came on here and only looked at the videos, simply assuming that the discussions about them would corroborate any “paranormal” inklings I had. As my fascination with the this phenomena grew, however, I found myself on this site again and again and naturally turned towards reading the postings that accompanied each video. But that only made me appreciate what you’re doing that much more so and I look forward to each update and reading what you and others have to say.
JayMan, keep up the good work. Until we know what is going on for sure, absolutely without a doubt, then anything is just a guess or a theory. Do I think it’s the end of the world? Well, it could be, but until it actually happens, I am so not going to worry about it. Fear is not going to give us the answers we are seeking here. Let’s be ready for the truth about these sounds when the evidence becomes available. In the meantime, I follow your site with great interest! Keep it up please. ‘-)
My former sister in law is saying that she thinks these sounds have something to do with a polar or magnetic shift. She said it has to do with physics or something. Truthfully, when she speaks about it it makes a lot of sense. I’m just better at grasping at all of this when approaching it in a spiritual realm. That said, it’s obvious there is something going on, and of course this reality is going to scare many. And what do people do when they are afraid, they try to shoot the messenger. So no worries.
I’d also like to add (and I don’t know how true this is) but over at the dailymail.co.uk in their comment section accompanying the WI sounds article (which by the way was a day or so after it was reported here), there was talk of similar things happening in Haiti in the days leading up to their big earthquake. Now as I said, I do not know how true it is as I haven’t researched it, but I’ve found that generally, commenter’s have a lot of good 411.
Irregardless, keep up the great work. I, for one am glad I am a subscriber.
Godbless
Thanks for your hard work and analysis. It’s clear to me (at least) that you’re trying to present this information as neutrally as possible…so I’m sorry there are idiots who make life difficult. Hope they re-educate themselves as you continue to maintain your position. That said, I was initially scared to death listening to some of these videos but that’s because they’re totally fascinating. For some reason, the first thing I thought of was “The Mist” by Stephen King. One last thing — seems that this phenomenon is making news — the Wisconsin event you posted on was covered on Florida’s WBBH (or WZVN, I can’t remember which). Keep up the good work!
I have just recently stumbled upon this blog after discovering this topic last night. I found it odd that throguhout the last four or so months, I don’t remember hearing any of the noises as shown in most of the videos. As a result, I tried to research more about it so that way, I wasn’t going crazy.
Anyhow, I really like how you attempt to be neutral on the causes of the odd sounds without resorting to going “ZOMG, ITZ TEH END OF TEH WORLDZZZZ”. I really appreciate it.
As for a question in term of the forum, do you plan on adding any additional sections (e.g. “Off-Topic”) so to give members something else to discuss about? I think it would help keep people revisting the forums and the site but that’s just me.
