  2. I live in Dahlonega, GA and I have been hearing a strange high pitch noise coming from no where. I am fairly familiar with the sounds of the woods and this noise unlike anything I have ever heard before. Next time I hear it I will record it and post a video.

  3. I heard a hovering aircraft noise tonight. It was cloudy but I have noticed this noise latelly around 1:30 am. Sounds like a plane just hovering above my neighborhood. I live relatively close to the Texas Air National Guard. Weird noises have been happening latelly.

  4. I think the noises have something to do with these new gas wells everywhere. I’m sure they don’t put up those god-awful looking noise abatement shields around their wells for nothing. They must be venting excess gas or burning it off or something. I used to live in west Texas and refineries used to emit LOUD roaring sounds when they had to shut off equipment and vent the excess – they would just vent it up a pipe and burn it. Don’t know what they do in cities.

  5. Littlefield, Tx. 3 days ago, my wife at work, I, at home, and my sons, at friends’ houses, all heard this same noise that’s been reported here. Odd, not sure what to think of this… It lasted about 10 minutes, clear sky, about 2 p.m. Just wanted to get the location documented on the site.

  6. spokane wa… i heard these sounds at just about twilight.a long loud outburst, that stops suddenly and unexpectedly, and then a shorter sound exactly the same intensity as the first. sounds like industrial machinery venting pressure. i am stumped as to what it might be.
