Bless you Samantha66Plus1 and thank you very much! I believe you, but we have to ask the hard questions don’t we. Otherwise we’d be like any blog screaming about the Apocalypse. This video is so creepy we don’t want to believe it’s real. I hate to say it but my instinct says this is real and it doesn’t surprise me that the police didn’t care. They hate being bothered with noise nuisance claims. I’m going to post her answers along with my questions.
Why does she call it Strange Sounds in the Sky 2012? That’s my title and dates are used to drive traffic. She admits in the YT comments that she looked at videos on this site.
After watching, and listening to all kinds of “Strange sound” videos. And reading all I can find on simular sounding heavy machinery. aircraft, earthquakes, HAARP, goverment tunneling, etc. I stIll have found nothing that even comes close to what I heard here last week.
Why does she have such elaborate search tags on YT? Why does she call it Strange Sounds in the Sky 2012?
The (tags) were added with the idea that I may find a wider audience to confirm what it may be that I am hearing. I only added this after a friend listened and could not figure it out either.
If she was blasting this sound I would imagine her neighbors would be pissed.
I would find it rather crazy for someone to be running a power saw at 3am. I have heard a power saw before, and this definatly does not sound the same. The assumption around here is local logging companys. Even though the nearest is roughly 30miles away. (Insert: I don’t think it really sounds like a power saw. The sound is way too complex.)
But why didn’t they leave their house like she did? Were they afraid? Would you walk outside?
And yes I have asked neighbors about the sound. Some have heard it, and some have not. The ones that have, say they have been hearing it off and on for a few years now. (If they heard it before maybe that’s why they didn’t go out.)

As far as calling the police at 3:30 am to ask about any construction in my area or any low flying planes. It has been done. The responce I got from them was “We dont know of anything happening in your area, and we will check it out” That was it. They did nothing.

Wow this one is freaky and loud! In this video, the perplexed witness has been disturbed three nights in a row by a very strange sound. The sound starts at 3:00am every night. In the video the lights all come on in the neighborhood as people wake to the sound. This fact makes it very real. (INSERT 1/8: I overlooked a very important part in her YT description. She says it starts with a rumble in the ground then it sounds like it’s in the sky.)
To my ear it’s like a chain saw or a mill saw mixed with other odd metal sounds. It’s a weird one this is. I’ve paired it with the video in Germany. Go to the end of the German video to compare. See the original article here.

COMMENT 1/9: Okay I’ve been listening to this over and over. These have to be the weirdest noises I have ever heard. This is not just one sound…it morphs, it transitions in layers and the variations are stunning. I think it would be hard to create this sound unless you’re an audio person.

I can see after studying it that neighbors do turn lights on. I have no doubt that this sound is being heard outdoors and is not an overlay. It’s that atmospheric quality that can’t be faked. Someone in the YT comments asked her why she didn’t call the police and she just kinda glazed over it. Why does her hometown on her Channel say Dallas? Notice how she does an introduction and THEN the sound starts. OR was the sound already going, I can’t tell.
HELLO out there Miss Samantha66Plus1! If you read this post on my blog can you please clear up some of these questions. If this is real it’s a very serious video and we need to know more. If this is real, and I never say this, authorities need to investigate this. It’s beyond not normal.

MORE AFTER THE JUMP…
Can you see now that documenting these weird videos yields matches later. That’s the premise of this blog, those “ah-ha” moments when there’s a connection.
I don’t think this is a fake. It’s perfectly atmospheric and she has no other videos. She ends the video with, “I’m just going to stand here and see how long it lasts….ok maybe not.” The camera is shut off. She is genuinely afraid, which is appropriate when sky noises occur. Not someone standing around calmly explaining that “it’s the same sound heard around the world!”
There was an earthquake off the coast of Oregon on the 4th of February. It was only 4.3 but still an earthquake. I wonder if she lives near the coast?
But an earthquake wouldn’t explain the sounds.. and all of the sounds are similar to metallic grinding sounds… confused.. :S
Some of the other strange sounds heard ’round the world were also occurring right before earthquakes. Some theories propose that the strange sounds are related to increased seismic activity and shifting plates within the earth.
I heard very similar sounds in Chicago, IL on January 23rd around 2:45-3:00 A.M. I haven’t heard anything since, but I’ll never forget it and it was very spooky and unnatural so I can’t honestly say that I’ve been wanting to hear it again.
October 14 2011 and the same goes for me. I will never forget it. It scared the B- Jesus out of me, and I hope I never hear it again.

You must think this is Malaysia. See if you take it seriously like Malaysia, and don’t convince people, they don’t like it. The US would never take this stuff seriously and strange sounds will be banished to the realm of tin-foil hat wearing people like me. LOL. I think the time is going to come when something might happen and my site will be taken seriously. Part of me doesn’t want that to happen because then reality sets in and these sound events become something more than a subject for an arm chair amateur sleuth. I wish I had a recording of a syndicated news show that covered this site yesterday. It was done by Big D and Bubba. A schlock jock duo. I really feel as planet x (or whatever it is out there) gets closer, we get increased earth activity and an increase in these sounds worldwide…that one was really freaky. I would be interested to know how far across Oregon those sounds could be heard and if anyone called 9-11 or alerted the media?

I heard the same thing and i’m pretty far from the coast thou it sounded a lot less loud which means I was a bit further away from the sound of this. It is a horrifying and scary sound. Lol the coward in me ran back inside. Fight or Flight right?

I find it very disturbing that there is NOT more scientific exploration/ explanation of the reported PHENOMONEN. Hang in there JayMan. The Truth will prevail, eventually.
It does sound very similar to the German sound…cant really tell if it is exactly the same though, as in an exact replica. The fact that light are coming on as others hear it is very convincing..but why has it been heard at exactly the same time. 3am? Very very interesting though, just wonder just how long these sounds can be heard all round the world and the authorities not to acknowledge them at all…
I watched Melancholia actually and enjoyed it but did not like the ending at all! I am far more optimistic and positive to allow that level of doom into my way of thinking!
I do really believe something is out there that will eventually culminate in some serious earth disruptions which will make the 2004 tsunami and last year in Japan look like nothing…but I maintain the belief that forewarned is forearmed and I feel certain that no matter what happens, I will be ok.
My prediction is we will all still be looking at weird blogs in 2013.
What would be interesting to know is if there are metallic structures close to that place. Something like large antennas, industrial areas, steel skeletons of buildings, scrap yards, etc..
The more we hear these sounds the more i get the feeling that they are the result of some electrostatic discharge. And the fact that they are quite different from one another also points to that direction.
i.e. if the discharge is in the clouds then you get the “sky roar”, if it is in the woods then you get a hissing sound and cracks, if it is from an urban/industrial area or from metallic structures you get more metallic sounds like this one..
I think that this is the most probable explanation guys..
The increased frequency though is not a nice thing but on the other hand these sounds could exist also in such frequency in the past but not being reported by people for various reasons.
I like this idea and it makes sense, I have never thought of it. It would explain the different sounds. Now the question is why.
All these electrostatic discharges as well as the Electrophonics are due to electric activity in the upper atmosphere (electrophonics are due to ELF waves created from such an activity but are usually small hissing sounds created very close to the observer from things like grass, his/her hair, glasses, and other small items. Not sounds that can be heard for miles).
What may cause it? Well probably the Sun..
It’s not going to be the end of the world, but if this activity is unusual then i would like to believe that the authorities know about it and are getting prepared for the possibility of a Carrington like event.
As mentioned above, the sky roars must have some correlation to earthquakes happening near the area of the recordings. In my mind it couldn’t be natural. But then again, the sounds are metallic. Could be something to do with a warning system with predicted earthquakes. I have relatives that live in Gilbert, az. I’m going to call and ask personally what they thought it sounded like, what detection it came from, and if they buy the local media nonsience

I left a message on YouTube to see if she has got local media to come by. If its happening nightly, it’s a good opportunity to have it covered.
Wow that first video is the best one I’ve seen so far and the freakiest. I couldnt watch the second clip as some of them are not working for me.Down here in Australia we haven’t heard those sounds yet but I live near a airforce base with loud jets so…I think the authorities do know what it is and the fact there not telling us what it is worries me, if it was nothing bad then they would tell us what I’d was wouldn’t they?.

I don’t think they would if it meant panic. They might know something but more than likely the videos aren’t under their radar. If people heard a loud noise over Washington DC they would have to say something….like “oh it’s just another venting valve.” Of course if they heard a loud noise over DC they would probably come and get me for compiling videos.

The electrical discharge theory seems intriguing but electrical instances in nature seem to be sharp acting and short duration. Think lighting strikes or static discharge from rubbing your feet across carpet.

The only problem I have with most of the videos, as well as this one is: If the people woke up where were they? The lights to me were already on…I would have been in the street trying to see what the heck the noise was. Also , it went on 3 nights in a row…why wasn`t some news media out listening, investigating….or the whole street simply listening and watching. I just find it weird that there is never a person around anywhere…it is like, `the village of the damned`…LOL..Don`t you think that all this is rather strange?

Man, that is one spooky recording! It’s definitely got a sort of “electrical arc” noise to it. The only thing it reminds me of is something that happened in our neighborhood after the April 28th tornadoes. We had several weakened trees suddenly fall on some wires early in the morning with a loud electrical “buzz” sound that scared us and woke up the neighbors. I thought it was a fire too because there was also a glow and sparks as the wires broke apart. But in the video from Oregon there’s no glow in the sky and everyone still has power, so while it’s a little buzzy, maybe it’s not electrical at all. And there’s no explanation for that loud sing-song moan, which is eerie!!! Gave me chills!
For such a loud noise you would expect people to call 911, but I don’t hear any regular sirens approaching in the background.
I don’t think that it is a coicidence that an earthquake hit there just after hearing the sound. It was heard in many places in central Saskatchewan and they just had a minor quake as well. Someplace that normally doesn’t get earthquakes. I’m starting to wonder if its a magnetic resonance caused in the atmosphere near locations of tectonic activity. Maybe something to do with the fluctuations in the earths magnetic field.

It is not true that electricity in nature is short living. In fact it is exactly the opposite.
The auroras are electric currents. There are several currents that run around the Earth constantly and all of them have their effects in the atmosphere and the magnetosphere of the Earth.

The whole universe is bursting with electric activity and lately this is becoming more and more obvious. All resent observations and studies point to that direction and IMHO we will soon see great changes in our views about cosmology and astrophysics.
Consensus science still calls most of these currents “ion fluxes” or “magnetic ropes” but no matter how you call them, a flux of charged particles is an electric current and since we know that magnetic fields exist everywhere (even in inter-galactic scales), currents are the only way we can have them.
Even the solar wind has all the characteristics of an electric current (and it can be explained this way, unlike with current theories). Same for all those “plasma rivers” we see in the Sun.
As for the earthquake connection to the sounds (and other phenomena) it is already accepted that earthquakes are related to ion/electron fluxes (that is electric currents) from the ionosphere. And there is a lot of research in that area.
If we assume (I would prefer the word accept but lets stick with assume for now) that the solar wind is an electric current, then even small increases in this current can cause serious changes in the near Earth electromagnetic environment.
If we go even further to assume (or accept) galactic scale electric currents and magnetic fields that effect smaller scale currents like the solar wind, then even the movement of the solar system can lead to significant (and unpredictable) changes in the whole system due to external electromagnetic variation.
I believe what we are hearing is directly a result of the CME which is at its peak in this sunspot period.
Having performed a flame speaker experiment in school I can visualize this. A flame speaker is simply a bunson burner flame creating ionized gas into which a pair of electrodes are inserted. The electrodes are fed by a high voltage transformer which is excited by an audio amplifier. You can actually hear music within the flame by virtue of the charges particles dancing in earths magnetic field.
I can picture the coronal mass ejection (CME) tugging on the earths magnetosphere, much like very loose strings on a bass guitar. These electro-magnetic effects would be translated into acoustic energy and conducted through atmospheric ducts.
I am not so certain that these forces are tugging significantly on the tectonic plates, however it would be interesting area of study.
As far as questions about lack of media coverage, just how is truthful the media about a lot of things for starters? And after this just what do they have to go with? Maybe there’s some policy that holds them back because possibly they’ll initiate or start mass hysteria, panic etc or maybe they don’t want their coverage to rival that of national enquirer (batboy anyone) …and by the way Jay Man I love your blog very well written and I definatly appreciate the time and effort you put into it

I don’t think the mass media in the US is intelligent enough (sadly) to take seriously an phenomenon like this and explore it to a scientific solution. It is an interesting phenomenon with a likely interesting scientific explanation. But unless people are dying, a story won’t get more than the cutesy coverage we have seen.
Maybe somebody like Bill Nye the science guy could pursue this with a vengeance and provide some educational benefit.

I am another person living in Oregon . I have heard these sounds as well but at a further distance. Basically not as loud, they happened middle of the night like she stated being a night owl I don’t usually get to sleep til 3-4am anyway.
These sounds are pretty terrifying, The distance I was from the sounds a Central Heater can cover it to give you an idea of how far it seemed.
Something really isn’t right, and I hope that sooner or later they will be honest with what the hell is going on.

The situation is thus all over, thus secretly I hope things or rather the universe will have to `give`way` in some way. Daily I feel the other shoe is about to drop! My question is still just simply: Where are all the people in the videos. Here even in Oshawa..or Whitby.I know here in Toronto even at 3 am the whole street would be out! On the evening when the Durham/Whitby noises were recorded my brother (he`s exactly where those original sounds were recorded,in a very quiet area) was out scanning and listening to the sky with a huge telescope heard nothing. However that makes no difference neither way, but he is watching anyway frequently, though he thinks there is a rational explanation to everything,science does that to you:)
I am hoping that one evening he shall be proven wrong!
I think this phenomenon is amazing. I believe some of these sounds are very real. This particular video immediately puts up a red flag for me. The poster says she ran inside because she was so scared. Why not call 911? There is talk of neighbors turning lights on. Most were on already with only one coming on. She states the time is around 3 am. How do we know for sure? Maybe this is around 7am and people waking up for the day and are just letting their dogs out. Samantha66plus1 Get a new video verifying date/time (newspaper, computer clock), calling police, and speaking with neighbors while the sound is happening. Maybe interview your neighbors about this sound. You could interview the police too. Someone must have called them. What city is this? Perhaps myself or someone else could request 911 logs/transcripts. Also fishy is having this as your only video and the tags that you have associated with this video.

After listening to this video, it almost sounds like a rip saw at a lumber mill with a board stuck in mid cut and then it sounds like reverb. I’m interested to see what comes of this video.
If she doesn’t eventually explain it, the suspicion grows. I agree about the sound but I can’t see how one could really produce a long weird sound like that.
I had a neighbor cutting particle board with a table saw that sounded just like that. But hers is pretty loud and drawn out. Me I would have walked around to see who was building cabinets at 3AM.

Here is a really interesting article about large, metallic, humming blocks that are showing up on the coast of Oregon… Just in the last few days. Has anyone from the area seen these things? Just listened to Linda Moulton Howe (http://www.earthfiles.com/), a good “alternative”, independent reporter who has begun digging into both the Strange Sound thing and the metallic blocks report, on Dreamland (http://www.unknowncountry.com/dreamland/linda-moulton-howes-strange-sounds-report). I believe in the subscribers section (of the interview) she mentioned that she spent a fair amount of time trying to contact someone at the parks department or police to see if they knew anything about these reported blocks. She said no one she talked to had heard anything about them. The police said they had no record of anyone calling them (as was stated in the article). Which leaves one to think that either the article is a farce, or (if one were of a suspicious nature) someone was trying to cover it up. So. More when I have it.
Btw, Jay, thanks for providing a place to air and discuss this weird Strange Sound phenomenon. I know how much energy and time something like this can take.

The two from Canada are interesting because it’s obviously the same sound but from two different perspectives. One is lower in frequency, however that could be due to the camera having better fidelity.
The one that sounds like the sawmill has a tint of reverb. I used to work in Radio and this sounds to me like the old-fashioned “doorspring” reverb that actually used a coiled wire to “delay” the sound and thus cause the reverb. It makes me wonder if this could be the result of induced atmospheric voltage. Could be a transformer and wires running to/from it. Why this is happening all the sudden around the world I don’t have an answer for, but Clif High in one of his “shapes” reports predicted “toroids” that could be the result of plasma energy in the atmosphere. NASA has reported plasma blasts erupting from the tops of lightning storms, so anything is possible.

I just posted something interesting in the forum..under `eating crow` . I would truly appreciate some input as to some personal theories, I wasn`t able to post the actual sounds,but working on it.
Truly, this is all true I am now am convinced….though what it is ,is the real mystery and why is happening even more mysterious???????No I don`t think it`s they are angels of doom, or such like, but some valid explanation would be great. I am also still wondering about news coverage, here in Ontario as well….Mmmmm, the plot gets curiouser,and curiouser!

I’m still exploring the correlations between solar storms and the occurrence of the sounds in the northern hemisphere. I follow the SOLARHAM site which reports current active sun spots, CMEs and flares on the sun.
There is a watch on one CME (coronal mass ejection) with predictions of possible impact on Earth on Tuesday, February 14 (12.00UTC) – evident by an active Aurora Borealis light show.
I will be watching (and HEARING) to see whether any strange sounds are recorded via YT and/or posted here over the next few days.
Commenter Panos has mentioned on a couple of occasions (from the comments I have read, that is), the Carrington event of 1859 (when there was a geomagnetic solar storm so wild it took out communications for weeks!).
Anyhew, I’m Carrington on a bit here, but it will be interesting to see if any strange sounds collide with the coming impact on Feb 14, and subsequent Aurora – Northern Lights that may result from this.

Anyone else in Portland hear that roar earlier today and yesterday? It was around 9am this morning and about 1pm yesterday. Started off sounding like the jets you usually get here but way louder and longer, seemed to fade and come back. I was inside playing video games and it was loud enough to make me pause and go outside to look around. didn’t see any jets and it lasted about 20 minutes.
I live in Parksville B.C on Vancouver island I heard these sounds too. Lol thought I was losing my head! Friends in Alberta have heard it too what the hell is going on lol
I can explaine why the sound appears to begin after the women gives her introduction to the movie. The reason why the sounds are more prominent after she has spoken is becouse she is using a consumer grade handheld camera , the mic try’s to auto correct the incoming sound in attempts to have smooth transitions from loud to quit noises , the women’s voice is close to the camera so it is in a scence filtering the audio that is close , . I’m not the best at explaining myself , but this happens with my medium grade hand held , it has what’s called zoom mic , it picks up audio from what is in the frame and misses the audio that was produced right behind me , example my mom talking to me , my mom was right behind me but the mic never got it and got my brother talking who was in the frame , but I have had my camera drown out the far noises when I was talking and holding my camera and then when I started to talk the environmental noises all returned to there clear regular levels , almost like a medium quality web cam with auto brightness corection
I should have stated that I live in Victoria BC , I have herd a very similar sound a few time in a small town called Vanderhoof bc , I have yet to hear this in the city of Victoria , when I watch this video the hair on my intire body stood up , my tempeture increased to the point of sweat forming and a big OMG was going threw my head , this movie is real people , I’m analitical by nature and I have been said to investigate things to death , this movie is 100% real I do not know the person who shot this , but I too wish I had a camera for my own records of my experience although I thing there would have been a disclaimer at the beginning of my video I had some colorfull words to describe my excitement and confusion furring my experience , this is real , it is happening all over , we need to wake up and become aware of what is realy happening , believe what you want our government is keeping the truth from us , we need your help , keep these coming , I wish we could co-ordinate our efforts and mark pin points on global earth to mark the hotspots were this phenomena is happening so we as people can get the answers we deserve

Why would a woman go alone outside her house with this FUCKING LOUD NOISE that sound like a fucking tripod and just stand there recording? Plus, where’s the other house’s people? they’re too scaried? Why would her go outside and no one else?
There Seems to be some “BUZZ” on the net about “STRANGE HUMMING BOXES” along the Oregon (Stoneyfield Beach) and west coast. If anyone is located near that area maybe some further investigation would be helpful in uncovering the possible HOAXES or TRUE connections to sounds and events in that area.

Yes its true…some of them are direct copies of another video. Not all are.
WOW and WTF is all i can say about this. ive seen videos of these sounds and even heard them myself before but nothing like this.Ive heard of people saying these sounds are a natrual pole shift but i personally dont think that is what is happening With what i have read about HAARP or High Frequency Active Auroal Research Program which as the name says is a high frequency radio tower field in alaska which is thought to beable to make storms and cause earthquakes but that is unknown i almost think that is this program causing these sounds because do you really think its sounds from hollow earth like some people say and by the way if the earth was hollow how would we beable to create under ground mines and tunnels and besides if the earth where hollow it would probably cave in onitself.Anyways i think HAARP has to be the cause of these noises espeacialy if they have been heard before earthquakes and such but this could also be a natrual pole change so i will let you decide.
I live in Canada, about 90KM West outside of Toronto (Ancaster area).
I hear the same sound pretty much at least once every day.
Usually between 6 and 7 AM for about 3-5 minutes, and then somewhere between 10 PM and 2 AM for much longer and more frequently.
It’s pretty annoying lately as it started about 4 months ago, but back then it was very sporadic and not as loud.
Last night was the worst yet as it was drowning out our TV so much that I simply paused the movie we were watching until it stopped (about 10 minutes later).
Way back last year, I had tried to convince my wife it wasn’t a jet, but she wouldn’t hear of it.
Now, she totally agrees it can’t be a plane or a jet, as one time recently, the sound started, we went outside, then as it was going on, we saw a real jet actually fly over after a while. Fortunately the sound stopped/ended during the time the jet was flying over, and you could hear the difference clearly. i.e Jet wasn’t near as loud or consistent as the sound. (Funny, I had always thought jets were ridiculously loud, not compared to this….). To be clear, you coud hear the jet fade away after, whereas the sound always just starts, then stops with very little fade in or out.
This is a real thing, but I don’t think anyone is taking it seriously up here.
In Canada, most people simply accept whatever it is without too much question, and carry on.
I’ll record tonight and in the morn and post, unless it magically stops today.
It’s more annoying not knowing what it is, than scary….

It went on and off for about an hour or so. Funny thing is that one of the times I went outside I actually saw a cruiser driving around our neighbourhood. Not a usual thing where we live, but could be coincidence. I figure someone is getting fed-up of the noise.

Hi all. I’m glad to see this site up and all the great discussion.
I am in Toronto and have been hearing the jet sounds for about two years, off and on. Usually between 9:30 pm and 11 pm. Wrote it off as testing of jet engines as I am near airport. However, was never really happy with the explanation – why so late? why now? I have lived in the area for decades, but only started hearing the sounds in the last couple of years.
Each time, it lasts about 20 minutes or so. Starts and stops suddenly. Very, very loud – I can easily hear it inside the house.
Only this summer I have also heard the metallic scraping sound. Again, very loud, even inside the house. Yes, we have train tracks about 2 kms away or so. But I have never heard this sound before this summer. And it was also at very odd times.
Now I am rethinking everything. Especially after also seeing strange lights in the sky starting last summer.
If I hear either sound again, I will call 311 and see if I can get more info about a reasonable explanation.

Explain something to me jay man, I read that you admiited to making strange sound videos as a hoax, now you are saying that these sounds are real? Why would you make these hoaxes? What’s the point?

This is really astounding because I heard a very similar sound at least a month ago. I live in the Salem area of Oregon and I heard it when I was in the kitchen, only it was earlier, maybe around 10 or 11pm. At first I thought it was a train going by because there are some RR tracks some blocks away and I often hear the train going by at a distance, but as I listened it sounded stranger, it had like a metallic resonance to it, and the tone seemed to raise and then lower and this would repeat itself. I considered the possibility that it might be an aircraft of some kind, but deep inside I knew it couldn’t be, and beside, aircraft noise rarely lasts for more than two or three minutes as it flies overhead. As it continued, I looked outside and could hear it clearer, but my dog didn’t seem spooked and in some weird way, this reassured me. I continued to listen for 20 minutes, and then strange things started coming to mind, the apocalypse, 12-21-2012, aliens, and I kind of spooked myself and went inside to the family room where the TV droned out the sound. The weird thing was that I didn’t feel freaked out enough to call the police, but the longer I listened to it, the more I felt disturbed by it, because I couldn’t identify it. I later tried to tell myself that I might have imagined it, even though deep down, I knew better.
I’m just glad to know that I’m not the only one that heard it, but I’m at a total loss as to where that sound was actually coming from.
