If you haven’t been following the Oshawa story, start here then go to here and then here. This video below is “the snore”.
I don’t normally talk about meteors or ufos because meteors are just that, and ufos, if they’re real, are usually silent. Reader sammygirl brought this to my attention. A short statement on Durham Radio News here, reports they received calls describing strange sightings in the sky over north Durham last night. We now have “the snore sound”, “sky roaring” and a meteor sighting, all within a few weeks. I can’t say if any of these are related but it’s worth recording just in case something else (like a video) pops up.
From the article:
It appears there were some strange sightings in the sky over north Durham Monday, as several callers to our newsroom, claiming they saw what looked like a meteor, streaking across the sky just before dawn. We spoke with the Canadian Space Agency, and officials there say they’re unaware of anything in the area.
One of my earliest readers hfoded sent me an interesting article in the Sun-Journal from 2001 here. This article appears to be in some sort of archive. The article covers unexplained lights and a rumble that occurred in Maine. It’s a good read.
Below are a few excerpts from the article:
“It was a long rumbling. It sounded like a huge, huge object,” said 59-year-old Lynn Madelyn Bailey. “I was afraid to go out on my deck. It sounded like it was right over my house.” Bailey lives on Brighton Hill in Minot. Like others, she said the sound was like none she has ever heard before. It was felt as much as heard.
MORE AFTER THE JUMP…
And this:
Some people reported intensely bright lights accompanying the noise. Some saw a streak of light and then a flash. All of the people who experienced it mentioned the unusual nature of the noise.
The article says an investigation yielded nothing.
I’m very careful about making any connections regarding ufos, but when it’s witness accounts from news sources I trust the sightings a little more. There was no mention of sound in the Durham Radio News article but there are sounds recorded over the past few weeks. Also it’s worth mentioning a questionable meteor did make a sound in Texas here just a few days ago.

That’s good news if we’re talking about sounds of electric nature.
We have the Aurora connection of sound and lights so the logical projection of the sound effect should have a light counterpart in case of intense electric activity.
I’ve seen a very interesting video once while searching about sound videos with a light in the sky over some town in Canada. It was from January 2012 but i can’t find it again unfortunately.
A guy was recording a light in the night sky. The light was reddish, like a line with upward direction and more intense in the middle. It reminded me of a thin current shit and i wanted to find it again in order to check if there were any sound events in the same area.
Thanks for staying on top of Durham’s strange activities this last three weeks
Very interesting times
As from above as to below !
