There seems to be some confusion about sound types so I think this post will help clarify a bit. Readers seem to think the post on the history of sky roars is the same thing as the current metallic sound videos. Sky roars have been recorded since the 1850s. See this post here. Sky roars are just ONE type of sound event. The other types are new as far as I know. Since I’ve been studying this for several months I’ve gotten used to identifying types, which I’ll demonstrate below. Keep in mind I created the names to help categorize the events. I will use the most famous examples just in case you aren’t familiar with them.

In the WARPED METAL/SKY BANGING video he says that he heard this in Dec 2010.
“i heard this this december 2010. i was in my room and thought a jet was flying by … but it kept making noise……..”
It does sound like a jet. Like if one kept banking hard and stayed in the area. But some new alien jet or something.
On the other hand, it also reminds me of an animal roar that has been processed. Like a lion, or an elephant.

The last video in the post starts out sounding like a bed scraping against the wall during sex, then it goes on to sound like chanting, and then kinda like a distarted deepened dogs barking. (these are all impretions on my first listen through) it could also just be a train. I lived in a town with the train and heard it every day at least once a day and sometimes it would just shock me with how it could sound defferent avery now and then or some days the trains would shake the ground and some they wouldn’t, I guess depending on the cargo. I would say a lot of the noises comming out of canada could be trains, Just the sound vibrations comming off the mountains.

Well, the guy was filimg it outdoors, so it couldn’t be a bad (confirmed by him walking across the street). Though i wouldn’t know about trains, i never lived near train lines. But 2 things have me doubt it was trains. First, would it really go on for over 2 minuts in the same volume and frequency non-stop? And second, wouldn’t he know that it was trains if he lived near a line?
Yes I understand the train comparison but you’re correct. Just as with a jet, it doesn’t last over a few minutes and there would be a dopler effect.
Most of them sound fake when you listen to them with headphones on. Camera mics are not that complex, especially when it comes to directional sound. For instance, the earthquake booms: the actual sound of holding the camera, walking around, etc. it’s all simple sound coming from both the Left and Right area in your headphones, yet the boom sounds travel from Left to Right. They are much more complex surround wise and not as processed/cheap sounding as the actual camera-mic recorded sounds.
mate, i do agree with you that some camera’s have terrible audio quality, but those are old cameras. lately, they have impressive microphones. i have used a borrowed camera (a very cheap one, costed my friend about 100 dollars) to record full songs (i’m a musician lol). it came out with perfect audio quality. my drums sounded just as i wanted them to. the exactly balance between the lows and highs. very high quality defined sound. and that comes from a relatively cheap modern camera. one thing you can be sure is that it takes no more than 3 months for a better equip to be released. quality is rapidly increasing amongs every day society eletronics. and a simple house camera is no exception to this. if they said one of those videos were recorded with a regular cellphone and it came out with that quality, i’d be suspicious. but with a camera, i don’t think it’s unusual at all. one of the few exceptions to this sound quality on cellphones are apple products (i’m NOT a fanboy lol). apple products for some reason have a huge focus on microphones. they are widely popular amongst musicians for that reason
btw, i do understand your point of view, i’m just expressing mine. not saying you’re wrong and i’m right, just saying things the way that i see them.
No worries, makes sense. I’m more suspicious about the spatial quality, how the sound travels between the L and R areas compared to the other sounds.
All in all this reminds me of Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds”. Is someone just piggy backing on that sound design, or did the sound designers reference those real life events?
no doubts that some -even many- of these are fakes and copys. but i think that it’s possible to tell the difference between real ones and fake ones. if you pay attention, some one them you will listen to and feel normal, like nothing important was going on. but when i listen to some others, i feel a chill going down my spine. something i can’t understand creeps the hell out of me. i get paranoid. i think that at any moment something will jump at me from my back. maybe i’m just being silly, maybe i AM just paranoid, but i know something is very real and not right by those feelings. the question is, wich one is fake and wich one is real. cuz the sounds on war of the worlds were made with the intention of being creepy, right?
however, the ones that have been heard are most likely natural from out planet. just something rare. and i question myself “even tho this is some wierd shit that no one can understand, shouldn’t it be natural because we are all natural to this planet? wouldn’t this be in all of us since this planet is out mother earth?”
this just proves that the more we learn, the less we get. i personally believe that no human will ever be able to grasp all concepts from our planet, let alone the universe.
this is strange. some of these also send chills down my spine. i actually start looking behind me. it gives me the creeps and i don’t know why. i don’t scare easily. but there is just something wrong with this phenomenon.
Thank you for this. I don’t feel so crazy now. We’ve been hearing strange noises around my house every night for weeks that have been creepy enough my entire household is afraid to go outside. I’ll try to catch them on tape!
OMG, I started to search about this phenomenom at 3 p.m and I just can’t get enough. Something is really wrong with these sounds, specially the ” metallic ” ones, they DO sends chills down my entire body… Actually I’ve entered almost all links on this blog and I can’t understand one point: If it is happenning since 2009 (excluding 19th century relacts) with considerable frequency and spread, why doesn’t the media give a shit to it ? Everything I see is TV channels finding funny about relacts of desperated witnesses…
I wonder if those who have the power of spreading information aren’t even concerned about that or if there is something above them (government orders) restraining focusing on that phenomenon.

I heard this noise. It was quite an intense experience! I heard in on Jan 19, at about 1 pm 30 north of St. L MO. It lasted about 10 min. I live near an air port an thought it was a plane crashing! I ran outside an all was calm except this loud rumbling high piched string of noises so loud they were nearly deafening. While standing outside ( for probably about 3 out of the 10 mins) the noise suddenly stopped. When i say suddenly i mean INSTANTLY. The most shocking part to me was the feeling it left upon me.
Looking back on it now (1 week later) i remember rushing back in to call my wife an tell her about my experience, when i picked up my phone, i couldn’t remember who i wanted to call or why. so i sat it back down.
I then heard someone mention this strange noise phenom at the bar last night, so i looked it up on the web when i got home from work today. its eerie how familiar some of these sound, but others,while similar, don’t. I just wanted to report this to someone ANYONE. so here it is

Hi every one… Just a memory that came up in my mind at the end of video nr 1 posted here… The news channel told them it was a plane from an airport, apparently 4 miles away… When I was about 10 years old I was playing ball outside when me and some friends heard this extremely loud noise, like the one in the video… we surely all freaked the hell out, and running back home my neighbour was coming out of his house, just because of the sound. And there he stood smiling… When he saw me running he told me to calm down and laughed out loud. He told me: This is the XYZ plane from the russians (i don’t remember the name), and extremely big transport-carrier. I knew for a fact that my retired neighbour was in the army, and was very likely to know this kind of stuff. and our location was 5 miles away from the airport… Please have a look at that.
Even if it doesn’t explain the different kind of sounds, I wanted to let you know that there are airplanes that make such an enormous, invading, aspiring sound.
lets suppose: Different planes, diffent locations, different objects between subject hearing the noise and airport which make different resonations —> different sounds… There is always a logical explanation to everything not man-made… Just think for a moment about all the primitive conclusions humans had to make two thousand years ago, because of a lack of knowledge.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate people caring, people trying to understand. I am just 100% sure that there is no need for fear! Investigation is always noble, but for myself I am always concerned not to flirt too much with the ridicule. So keep up the good work

Strange sounds #3 sounds like a pair of sneakers rotating in the drum of a commercial clothes dryer. Sounds amplified with a hint of reverb.

my friends been hearing a horn noise for a while…i laughed…
today i felt a explosion at the same time my friends felt it. Before that i heard the roaring noise they claimed it was a plane….it was not the plane…it seemed like a cover up
I was just wondering if you have checked into the noise that was heard in Florida on 8/23/11? It occurred during a Detroit Tiger & Tampa Bay Rays game. The announcers commented on the noise. Do you know if this was a legit sound? Very curious! Thank you!
This sound was dismissed as lightning hitting their sound system. The sound is real. It may have been lightning but it was still super creepy! It also occurred right before the east coast earthquake.
Yes, I had read about the earthquake. I don’t think it sounded like lightning. But I am not an expert. There was also a sound recorded in Colorado either the day before or the day after an earthquake. Was that one real? Thank you for your prompt response!
Well the Colorado one probably was too. There were 5 earthquakes in CO that day. I can’t ever really say if any of them are true. I can only guess.
I believe the date of that earthquake was also 8/23/11.

I heard the loud roaring, rocket like sound a couple months ago. I was asleep. I rub a vet large, metal shop-type fan when I sleep, and it woke me up over that. I thought someone was firing missiles at us, that was my first thought while still disoriented and groggy. I got up and opened my window to try to look out. I listened for about 15 minutes then I woke up my husband. He is half deaf so he wasn’t up. I even went outside to listen. It was coming from the sky all around us and it was loud and constant. Then it just stopped. It was constant for about 20 minutes. I was concerned and perplexed but didn’t pursue answers. Then I heard someone discussing such things on the radio. It was the first I knew of other people hearing similar thIngs. I don’t like talking about this stuff because it sounds nuts.

i just heard some noises like this last night in serbia, novi sad…
all the dogs started barking and it was really creepy, it lasted about 30 secs, and after it disappeared, all the dogs went quiet, and that scared me the most…
about 10 dogs were barking and all of the silent, its was like something happened to them…
Love this site. I only just heard about the sky noises this last week whilst researching ley lines. I’m utterly fascinated. I’ve heard distant rumbling sounds like thunder ( it wasn’t) in Suffolk, UK but that was in the 90s and may have been the airbases in the area like Lakenheath. But all the explanations are feasable, HAARP, solar activity etc.
I’m now waiting to hear anything in Norwich.
I have a few friends who heard something unexplainable here in TN on Sunday morning.
One works at Home Depot and thought something fell on the roof since it shook the whole building.
I went over a nearby store to ask if they heard it and they said it sounded like a dump truck dumping metal.
They said it was loud and also seemed to shake the building.
Both parties said they had never heard anything like it.
I believe I heard a “sky roar” last night. It grew louder, then quieter, then louder again, louder each time until it was so loud that it sounded like whatever it was was going to show up in my backyard. At this time I grew so apprehensive that I felt I couldn’t take much more and I prepared myself for what I assumed was my impending death. This pattern played out over the course of about five minutes. When it was at it’s loudest/closest, I could make out more definition in the sound and it had a tonal pulsating whirring quality almost like a ufo from an old sci-fi movie. Frankly I was terrified. Then it vanished quite suddenly. No fade out. No dopler effect. Then randomly my dog barked once. This was at 1am and he was fast asleep. This was no Helicopter. The trees were still. It was not wind. This phenomenom is very real.
I heard one of these “Sky Roars” just little more than an hour ago. At first my over active imagination ran straight to aliens then tornado cause we are expecting rain but.. something about it just freaked me out. I still can’t go to sleep. What causes the Sky Roars!?
