Where to begin. It is time to issue some clarifications.
This is a personal, rather than a commercial blog, meant to present my theories and opinions about sky sound videos. Before the questionable Costa Rica and Conklin videos, it was less likely that the videos I found were fakes. I stand by many of the videos on this blog and believe some are very real. If I say it’s real or not, it’s my opinion and I leave open the possibility that I could be wrong. I always give reasons based on the facts. My reasons prove nothing.
This blog has gotten 40,000 post views since last Friday. This blog was lucky to get 100 hits a day until then. The two most read posts are “Creepy Sky Dragon Sound in Malaysia” and “A Very Disturbing Sound in Conklin”.
Youtube video blogger dutchsinse has created a term for these sky sounds. We can now call them UAOs or Unidentified AUDIBLE Objects. I like this because it just means a noise that isn’t known.
The landscape has now changed. Before last Friday I would find maybe one good video a week to discuss. Suddenly the internet is flooded with many sky sound videos. I feel it’s unlikely that suddenly there are ten sky events a day. This will make it very hard for me to choose the best and dissect it.
One of the most read posts on this blog is “Debunking Metallic Scraping Sounds: The Unconvincing Kiev Video”. I’ve received comments accusing me of being an “expert”. These comments are dripping with condescension and sarcasm. Well, I am NOT an expert. It’s called common sense, putting two and two together and a willingness not to always believe what I see and hear. It would be foolish to believe what we see and hear in this day and age is always true. Even a child can film the sky and overlay a “strange” manmade sound. MORE AFTER JUMP…
I will admit I love conspiracy theories and perhaps that’s why this interests me. I love the paranormal but just because I want to believe something doesn’t make it true. Same with religion, just because someone told me it’s true and I desperately want to believe, it does not make it so. Religion is based on faith and faith is not tangible.
It seems that many people on conspiracy websites want to believe the end is near. The reasons for this are many. I think it has to do with just being sick of the dysfunctional self-destructive world we live in, the idea that we aren’t alone in the universe or the idea that God is out for revenge and wants to torment his children before smiting them.
I will restate what I said below in the Conklin post. WHAT IF some of the metallic sky sound videos are real. What if just one of them is real. What if there is something very wrong in our world. What if those few real ones are ignored and dismissed as fakes. What if they are a message or a warning that could alter humankind’s destructive course. How can we possibly know until the sources are revealed.
Don’t be afraid of these sounds because as far as I know not a single person has been injured. Take them as presented without jumping to conclusions. Look at all of the possibilities. We went from believing the Conklin video to not, by picking it apart, paying attention to ideas and looking for clues. This blog is supposed to be fun but not a joke. Hopefully I can continue to bring certain videos into the spotlight even though because of the new hoaxes, I have no idea where to start.
(Insert 1/17: Oh my! Now I’m accused of being a viral marketing scheme for Cloverfield 2, LOL! People are trying to find my identity. Wow this is getting out of hand.)

Keep up the good work, I’m glad that your focusing on these events with a skeptical eye. I’ve agreed with most of your arguments, and you got a good ear for bullshit. Someone sent me that Chicago video to me yesterday, and yeah, I heard the monkeys in winter too
. The videos that can’t really be debunked seem to be accompanied by earthquakes almost every time, I feel that it may have to do with the Earth more than the sky. Could be simple reverberations of the crust and now everyone has a camera to record it, or maybe it’s something more out there, like a possible polar shift that some people have been talking about. Either way it’s too bad there are so many hoaxes, but keep up the investigation.
Personally, I’ve never seen nor heard anything unexplained, until about a month ago. Both happened in a park, and the first time I was alone
. First time it was a lot like “the hum” we are talking about here, faint but persistent, kinda like a dog whistle, but in the woods. That’s what turned me onto this when I saw the first video, it could have been anything in the woods though, maybe faulty high tension lines?? The second time was weirder. I was again in the woods of western mass and with one other person. We were sitting on a broken dock overlooking the river on a clear night. Suddenly in front of us a flash goes off in the sky, for a second, then nothing. We both said “What the hell” at the same time. No noise, so it might not be relevant here, but it almost seemed like the sky gave off a flash bulb, like a quick ball of lightning. Although it was not elongated like lighting, made no thunder, no clouds, no repeats, and all the geese in the park went crazy after. Both are still unexplained in my mind. That’s personally why I hear ya out on these things, we could be dealing with something that we have no knowledge of. Of course the mind plays tricks, and we see/hear what we want to see/hear, but sometimes there is no denying the bizarre. I’ll keep my eyes peeled and my ears open.
*snort* – people need to calm down. just because a person gives their “personal viewpoint” does not make them an expert.
I view this blog and Jay-Man’s efforts like the whole paranormal investigating thing. – We are dealing with something we don’t know what it is – we are all trying to find answers.
I don’t know how this blog could be construed as a “marketing ploy.” What could Jay-Man possibly be selling? — whatever it is, I can’t purchase it – I’m broke. lol.
I also don’t for one minute think the world is going to end on Dec. 21, 2012. I couldn’t possibly be that lucky to be able skip out of 10 years worth of mortgage payments! I don’t put stock in cute calendrical dates and times – like 1-11-11. Altho, on 1-11-11 at 1:30pm, my dad died. He was 87 years old and ready for his time. – I think he was trying to make that cute number but missed it by some 20 minutes. It would be just like him. – so we could all talk about him.
Are there changes ahead? Yes, I think so. What could those changes be? I don’t know. We are fully in the Age of Aquarius, having left the Age of Pisces. These zodiacal changes occur roughly every 2000 years. The last time, when we entered the Age of Pisces, we saw the birth and rise of Christianity. What’s going to happen now? I don’t know. Like Jay-Man, I’m questioning everything.
I’m intriqued by these Unidentified Audible Objects. I think Jay-Man is doing a heck of a job compiling these videos into one place. HIs opinions on them are not the end-all and be-all. Altho I find them quite logical.
This is a fantastic place to look at all the evidence presented with the sounds, thanks for doing all this work and I hope you will stay with it. I appreciate a logical, clear evaluation of anything unexplained. I enjoy a gathering of facts and analyzing evidence from all angles.
I just wanted to say, going back to the first eerie video in Kiev…it is true that the people on the ground are not looking up and just walking along casually. However, I can honestly say that if I was walking along and heard those sounds, I don’t think I would look up either. Immediately I would wonder where the construction was, or what could be making that noise, but I really don’t think I would look up or be thinking it was coming from an organic source. At least I wouldn’t have before the Kiev video! Now that these sounds are all over the net and we are discussing them, yes, I would be aware enough now to look up and instantly wonder if it was more of the “earth sounds” and likely I would grab my cell phone and start recording too!
But prior to Kiev, I think I would have just kept walking and been quietly curious, just chalking it up to construction or machinery somewhere. That is what makes the people walking and not looking up in the Kiev video believable.
Yea, that Kiev one, if the sound had been going on for awhile most folks would just go on about. I think there is some like to HAARP.

HI My name is Kyle, from Rapid City, SD and I heard these strange sound in the sky at approx. 12:23AM 1/18/2012. These noises were a deep growl followed by a high pitch sound kinda like a trumpet..not sure what it was, but its very scary lol. this went on for at least 20 min @ a time. If there are anymore sounds like this heard in the Midwest, plz inform me. I tried to get an audio recording but it was faint on my Iphone. they came off the South from where I live near Box Elder, SD.
I agree it could be so many things making that noise in Conklin. I myself live and work near Conklin and have not heard any kind of noise in the sky. But not to say there wasn’t a noise. One must also remember that Conklin sits right on the edge of the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range. So are they doing something there? There is also an extreme amount of oil activity going on in the area as well with drilling and processing plants and what not. So the cause of the noise sounds could be limitless. If they are not a hoax.
On January 12, I photographed chemtrails with grids in the sky in every direction over Mobile, AL. The day before I heard these noises while sitting on my back deck with my husband. We were discussing what the other thought it could be. It sounded like a small engine plane ascending and descending over and over from the same point in the sky, but I could see nothing in the direction from which the sounds were coming. These noises lasted for about 45 minutes and I finally returned inside to not think of them again. I made no connection with the chemtrails I photographed the next day and had NO IDEA these noises were a world wide phenomenon. It was just yesterday afternoon I was browsing YT and saw a few videos all occurring on or about the same day I witnessed this. I’ve been passively searching the internet for any information I could find about this and came across your website. This is very real and very interesting. I would love to know where I can find more information about these noises and why the news media hasn’t reported anything about it.

Yesterday was the first time I visited your blog, and I really like the work you are doing. I’ve done some research too, I’m I would like to share some of the results. Now, it can be hard, cause I saw a brazilian cientist comenting on those things, and there is a lot of terms that I don’t know how to translate. But it all begings with sun storms, that causes CMEs, throwing ions to the Earth(and the Earth absorves it) like a giant lightning rod, who carries all these energy in it’s interior, that is full of metal! The Earth nucleo is moving constantly, and that combination can make the metals in the Earth crost dilate, making friction between metal, and the sounds that seems like metal roaring, may be in fact metal roaring!
Now, what that may cause us, I do not know. But it doens’t seems nice, right? I saw a video that you posted about the garage remotes that wasn’t working. Then I tought, with the ions moving, the metals frictioning… All that can make the polarization change, affecting bateries, for example, right?

Jayman I’m not sure why these sounds are happening but its happening all over my town. I know it sounds like I’m full of shit seems how I don’t have any evidence to back it. But I assure you that once I do I will share it with everyone. I’m freaking out man. Were all scared.

I am sorry I didn’t get to finish,any way that sound has been heard over the town I live in Amarillo Tx,The night I heard I thought it was a helicopter or something hovering by.But it never stopped and what ever it was interfered with the tv and computer.I hear that it could be coming from the core of the Earth and sounding off in the sky,they say that this is known to happy right before a Mega Earth quack.But the there could be that this is what the bible talks about.that there will be 7 horns blow the first to warn human kind to change their ways,and that angels would fall to the Earth in the form of a fire ball.And that people were not going to believe it and make up all kinds things to explain it,some will heed the warning most will not. The night that sound was heard here a ball of fire fell from the sky it is the second since last year,People in other places on the news are reporting that they felt the ground move. Since no one seem to know what this sound is,I think we sound really be worried about it.This reported to have been going on since 2002,A lady that lives here is deaf and she claims to have heard and no one can explain that.
We (speaking on behalf of human kind) tend to be either to skeptical or to nieve. What are the noises is the question everyone can ask. Maybe the videos are fake and maybe they’re actually being shared by people who are themselves scared and trying to relate. I would of considered enrolling myself into a mental institution. but…you can’t help but have that tiny little thought, what if. Or who is? Some say its aliens, perhaps were on a ship heading towards the “new heaven and earth”. Reguardless all I have to say is opinions are valued. But when you start attacking someone because you, yourself know you don’t have an answer is just pure ignorance. I’m not saying its real or fake. All I can say is wtf is it? And where is it coming from overall. There’s noo answers. And that’s what troubles me. Not one answer. Just theory. Theory isn’t fact and witnessing isn’t fiction…
I hear stuff like low rumbling sounds all the time. BUT, I also live near an airport, trainstation, interstate, etc. I think most of these “noises” are man and/or nature made. I think the real phenomenon here is the large number of peeps looking (or listening in this case) for “something”.
I do have a premonition that keeps entering my thoughts. Because the Earth “whobbles” every now and then AND the Earth has been known to shift magnetic poles occassionally, who is to say we aren’t experiencing one or both of these things? My premonition is the Earth turns into a tuning fork of sorts. Movements in the Earths core along with some other phenomenon would set up a harmonic pitch. We would hear it as a low rumbling, forever! Like Space noise we hear now.
I had no interest in this what so ever to be honest. but i was in orlando in December on holidays and around 3am i was woke by a low hum groan that to me i taught was coming from the sky lasted around an hour so sometimes pulsing getting louder then it stopped no it woke no one else but funny thing the following day lasted forever it was endless for me. i dont know what it was i am from ireland if it happend to me at home i would have taken more notice.
I myself have heard the noise in my small town in British Columbia, Canada. It sounds just like all the noises on those videos, and really creeped me out. i had no idea what it was, i thought it was thunder or something. Then i found these videos about similar noises. i dont know what is going on, but it is really interesting.

A friend and myself heard this “war or the worlds” noise while we were roasting marshmallows in cloquet MN. (I guess that makes me the first US witness I’ve come across so far, although Minnesota is bordering Canada) It started up at night and it sounded really creepy. Of course, at the time, you just assume something man made is producing that sound, although I had never heard anything like it before or since. We climbed up onto my friends roof and listened to it for about 20 min, it sounded like it was coming from the Duluth area. I heard…something…two nights ago (21st) in Mitchell, SD! It was outside and repeated constantly for about 2 hours. It may have been the wind high in the clouds or something but it seriously sounded like a screeching howling something and it was oddly light in the night for being midnight. Not like anything I’d ever heard before. I didn’t record it or anything since my phone quality is horrible. It almost sounded like someone squealing their car tires but lower in pitch and from farish away. No idea what it could have been but I know that this end of the world stuff has really got a lot of people freaked out. Way to add to the suspicion.
I’m one of the ‘cloverfield 2′ people, however I dont think you, specifically, are the one uploading all the strange videos for cloverfield 2 promos. but somebody is and i think the analysis of all these videos should be put on hold. because people who thought they were apocalyptic are gonna feel awful silly if it turns out to be a movie promo.
having said that, if i ever hear a sound like that in my waking life you can bet i’ll be analyzing the causes like the rest of you
I think you’re giving the copycats too much credit and if they were going to create a Cloverfield movie I would imagine they could do better than that. Imagine the resources that hollywood has to create something we couldn’t question. Remember Blair witch project?

Well I can say that myself, and a few hundred other people that I was working with outdoors in Conklin when that video was supposedly taken, never heard anything. It’s a hoax! For those of you who aren’t familiar with the area it is about 45 min south of Fort McMurray. The town of Conklin is a small Reservation that is surrounded by booming oil companies and work camps with thousands and thousands of people working there on day and night shift. Not one person I work with have heard any noises like this!! Other than hearing the gossip about that video they knew nothing about it. As for the birds, it’s winter!! Any singing birds are long gone out of here. Only magpies, crows and jays left around here. get a grip people!!
I’m in South FL. Last night around 230am I woke up to a loud boom. It was loud enough to wake me up. The chemtrails in our area has been pretty heavy here lately. This morning I must have counted a dozen deep chemtrail patterns across the sky. (not sure if that’s related to the noises).
Then at 4am was awakened again out of a sound sleep to a loud sound almost like a loud trumpet. I have no reason to make this up. I’m such a sound sleeper it takes a serious noise to wake me up and this one startled me. I finally walked outside on my front porch. My entire neighborhood and surrounding area was dead quiet except for the loud trumpet sounding type of noise.
I have no idea what is causing these noises but the sounds last night were very eerie and the one at 4am made the hair on the back of my neck rise.
I’ll keep reading your blog to see what others are posting across the planet.

I have heard the hum since autumn 1991, and this was exactly the time when the first mobile phone antennae were tested. It hasn’t left me since then; I just got used to it. I once read that our ears are able to interpret electromagnetic waves as sounds. This is an explanation why some of these phenomena can be heard, but not recorded. They are not tinnitus either; you can tell one from the other.
Hey! I am definitely skeptical about anything paranormal or supernatural. That’s not to say that I do not believe the unknown is at work in the world–we still have much to learn about our reality.
Still, I wrote these videos off as simple editing when my girlfirend showed them to me…the similarity (or direct duplication) of the sounds featured seem so obviously fake.
But this morning, on my way to work, I heard these sounds and immediately recognized them as featured in the videos. For a moment I was shocked and overwhelmed. I ran upstairs to get my girlfriend out of bed and show her what I’d heard…by the time we reached the street, the sounds had faded to silence. I was shaken up!
I understand how foolish these videos seem. But I have personally heard these sounds, as unlikely as that may seem. Though I do not pretend to postulate what their source may be!
Apparently there is a cyclical magnetic shift underway…scientifically documented. It occurs every few thousand years. The poles “trade” their charge, or some such thing. Perhaps this is some sort of auditory aurora borealis-style phenomenon?
There is a lot of debate over the magnetic pole shift theory. I cited an article on this blog that got some people upset.
Jay Man, congrats for your work! You have been a kind of ‘compass’ to me, since you have a pretty balanced approach on the subject. Last night I put a comment on Laura Knight-Jadzyk’s facebook page about some media releases being not realiable (as I’ve read on your blog, about Costa Rica’s release). Well… she’s shut me down from her page! I come to the conclusion that she can’t stand DIFFERENT OPINIONS!
But what I’d like to say is: there’s another video called ‘The Hum’ that shows Spanish media comments about these sounds. Well, in part 2, at 03:17, an ‘expert’ says strange sounds occurred in Curitiba (Brasil) and that THE NEWS WAS LARGELY SPREAD AND BROADCAST by the media. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I have been talking about the subject with almost everybody here and nobody seems to have heard anything, let alone on TV or radio stations. There are indeed some videos on YT relating Curitiba-Strange Sounds, but now I JUST CAN’T TRUST THEM ANYMORE.
Yes it’s best not to trust videos…we can only guess. We live in the digital age where anything can be presented as fact. Some people have an interest in perpetuating the fear instead of looking for the truth.
I am completely freaked out by this sky noise. Normally I would not pay the slightest attention to something I perceive to be too strange to be true. However, a few weeks ago I happened to watch a movie called Yellow Brick Road, a horror/thriller type of movie. I normally do not watch these types of movies, but this time I did out of pure boredom. Anyway, in this movie a major theme is a horrible noise coming from the sky that drives a group of hikers completely crazy… And then by pure chance I come across the exact same noise coming from all corners of the globe on YouTube – and now this blog of yours! The coincidence is too great! Something is for sure going on and I believe someone knows exactly what. But who? And why??
For almost 2 years i have been hearing a noise like a snowplow, even in summer not all the time but just some time. One night i decided to find out what the hell it was, took me about 2 hours as the noise was not continus, in the end i traced it down to a large cooling fan at an indoor ice ring.
Good example of things not being what they seem.
I now have been reading a lot about the noise known as the hum, is it possible that people have just expanded the hum into something everyone can hear. I read an intresting thing that after years of reserch they have decovered that the northern light do make a noise and it is possible for some people to hear them, I just wondered if the hum could be the northern lights. As far as strange noises from the sky, i think most of it is just youtube doing what it is best at (:
Ive been hearing “train noises” the past couple nights, didnt think much of it. Even though i took the time to look at a map and see how far a track was from my home, and it was prety far. Today I was conversating with a couple coworkers, and they began to speak about the loads of videos that have been posted the past couple months about noises coming from the sky, they are both religious. One of my coworkers brought one of the videos up on her phone and showed it to me. I listened and it was teh exact same sound. I being the overthinker that i am, kind of over reacted… walked to the back and broke in tears. Now ive been online almost my whole shift trying to make sense of this. I came across what you have just wrote, and i like it. I herd it two diff nights. Both times were late around 1 or 2 i cant remember, I was up playing video games. Next time it happens ill def have my phone near me. Ill send it to you to check out.
Don’t be afraid Paula. Usually they can be proven as fakes but most likely the real ones are just natural causes. If not then they are man made. God has nothing to do with it…I promise.
Thank you for taking the time to have a site as a resource for people who are interested in the strange sounds being recorded around the world. I found your site while trying to educate myself as to its possible cause and effects. I have been quite amazed by some of the videos I have watched.
I call them A,F,O,U,S (ayfows) Audible Frequencies of Unknown Source. I heard a similar sound in 1996 in the Camden suburb of Minneapolis Mn. It lasted 30 min and turned out to be a blown bearing in the turbine of the coal power plant 2 miles away on the mississippi. Tonight though both me and my wife heard a very faint sound for almost 20 min straight that sounded like a continuous train whistle from far way ,with an undeterminable direction for the sound. The neighborhood dogs seemed to be agitated by the tone as it becomes slightly louder every so often. The volume change is subtle but it does raise and lower slightly. I just check outside and the tone seems to still be there, yet very faint.
I am in Coon Rapids Mn. The time is 11:39 Sat night 2/25/2012

We were on a hike in a remote area of Maine today. We heard a noise from the sky that lasted about 20 seconds. It was not a hum or a boom but rather a crackle… Like electricity arching or firecrackers. It was not extremely pronounced where it filled the entire sky rather from a particular area like when you hear a jet overhead and look in the direction it was coming from. If it lasted much longer we would have began to run because it was odd and frightening.
Of all the videos I have seen or records I have heard I can not compare our experience to ant others. ?????
