UPDATE 11-30-11: Video was removed from YT by user. Hmmm…
This is probably what it’s like when a person has a bad case of tinnitus. This was filmed at night in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The sound comes and goes and seems to have no direction. He also mentions a small oil facility nearby but pretty much dismisses the idea. He has recorded the sound three days in a row, here and here are the others. The guy that filmed it speculates that it might be HAARP. For those of you that don’t know what that is, I have provided a link to the HAARP FAQ page.
From the HAARP website FAQ page.
“HAARP stands for The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. The goal of this program is to further advance our knowledge of the physical and electrical properties of the Earth’s ionosphere which can affect our military and civilian communication and navigation systems. The HAARP program operates a world-class ionospheric research facility located in Gakona, Alaska.”
Many conspiracy sites believe HAARP is a weapon that can cause earthquakes and change weather patterns. Some believe it is responsible for the record natural disasters this year including earthquakes and tornadoes. Some people believe HAARP works with Chemtrailing. Chemtrails are created when supposed covert airplanes spray barium and other chemicals over targeted areas. They believe that HAARP transmits microwaves or extreme low frequencies that interact with the chemicals to heat the ionosphere causing it to lift the jet stream, thereby changing weather patterns. It’s an interesting theory but I’m very skeptical. Why would the US if developing such a weapon use it against its own citizens. Some of you will roll your eyes at my last sentence.

UPDATE INSERT: 11-14-11
And TADA! Here we go with an example of a disturbed jet stream today going right through Pennsylvania. Just sayin’

However, according to the USGS, earthquakes are happening more frequently in the United States. The number of earthquakes doubled from 4,262 in 2009 to 8,493 in 2010. There have been nearly 4250 quakes so far this year. While earthquakes overall happen frequently, what is unusual is the extremely rare earthquakes in Colorado, Virginia, Texas and Oklahoma over the past three months.
Just last year similar high-pitched sounds were heard right before an earthquake in Canada. This video below also tries to make a connection between chemtrails and HAARP. Also maybe I dismissed this one too fast.
Believability Scale: | | | | | | | | | |
plus: person has no related post on YT, lasted hours and is recurring at night, you can hear the sound when the video plays, person seems genuinely concerned with non-scripted commentary
minus: cites HAARP, however he may have done research before posting the video

in November 2004, in Moldova, where I come from, was an earthquake, in the night. In the evening, when I came home, I saw kind of rare and strange color in the sky. The fact is the sky was very different that evening. Later that evening, at ca 11pm, Chisinau was hit by an earthquake of approx. 5 grades, with a loud noise (however different from the metallic sounds occurrences). Maybe the different sky and the earthquake was a coincidence, but I had a feeling that something bad will happen that night.
By the way, the increase in earthquakes is not mysterious or the result of any secret plot; it’s the environmental effect of the USA’s voracious appetite for oil. The earthquakes are due to the injection of wastewater into deep disposal wells, especially as a result of shale rock exploration for gas, called fracking. Ohio noticed an increase in earthquakes last year (2011) and correlated the increase to the fracking and have therefore tightened industry regulations on wastewater injection back into the earth. Similar data has come from similar fracking areas such as those in Texas and other potentially energy-rich areas. Certainly a sick and shady industry, but not a conspiracy:
